Itineraries
The liveaboard's diverse itineraries showcase some of Indonesia's most spectacular diving destinations. Among them, Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a treasure trove of marine life, from dugongs and seamounts to the legendary Komodo Dragon. The waters abound with mantas, sharks, and turtles, making diving here an unforgettable experience. Optimal diving seasons run from May to October, coinciding with the Southeast Monsoon, with itineraries lasting 7 to 10 nights. Departures for Komodo trips typically originate from Bima Bay or Labuan Bajo, easily reached by an hour's flight from Bali or Jakarta, extending explorations to areas around Sangeang Volcano and Sumbawa Island.
Raja Ampat, a secluded archipelago, represents a pinnacle of marine biodiversity, offering a rare opportunity for marine enthusiasts to dive among 75% of the world's coral species and a wide array of fish, mantas, and sharks. Raja Ampat itineraries, ranging from 7 to 10 nights, recommend diving from October to April for the best conditions. Trips embark from Sorong, with flights available from several Indonesian cities, presenting a wealth of dive sites across its 1500 islands.
Additionally, the Indo Master liveaboard ventures into lesser-known regions like the Eastern Banda Sea, Halmahera, the Spice Islands, the Southern Forgotten Islands, and Triton Bay. These remote destinations offer unparalleled underwater adventures amidst pristine marine ecosystems and rare species, making each dive an exploration of the unknown.
When to go
The best time to dive in Indonesia's most famous destinations varies due to its vast geographical spread and distinct marine environments. Komodo National Park offers prime diving from April to August during the Southeast Monsoon, yet remains excellent year-round. Raja Ampat is ideal from October to April, avoiding the rainy season for clearer seas and better visibility. Bali enjoys high visibility and dry weather from April to July and September to November, with the Mola Mola season spanning from July to October. Sulawesi, encompassing the Lembeh Strait and Bunaken National Park, provides great diving throughout the year, with visibility peaking from July to October in Lembeh and dry conditions from March to October in Bunaken. The Forgotten Islands and Banda Sea are best visited during the calm periods between monsoons, from September to November and April to June.
