1:1 guest-to-crew ratio with an 18-member professional crew
Ultra-silent generators and advanced soundproofed cabin design
Asian and Western dining program including BBQ, hotpot, sushi, and Indonesian cuisine
Cachalo is a 51-metre luxury Phinisi crafted in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, using traditional boatbuilding techniques with reinforced ironwood and natural teak. Built over two years, the vessel combines Indonesian craftsmanship with modern onboard systems, including advanced navigation technology, ultra-silent diesel generators, and individually controlled climate systems throughout the yacht.

Designed for only 18 guests across 9 ocean-view cabins, Cachalo focuses on spacious living, privacy, and long-range comfort while exploring Indonesia’s major diving regions, including Raja Ampat, Komodo, Banda Sea, and Alor. The atmosphere onboard blends expedition diving with high-end liveaboard hospitality, supported by an 18-member crew and a service-focused approach built around small guest numbers.

Cabin Types

Cachalo features 5 room categories spread across 9 cabins.

Lower Deck Standard Room

The Lower Deck Standard Rooms are located on the bottom deck, with 2 cabins in this category. These rooms form part of the vessel’s ocean-view accommodation layout and include individual climate control, soundproofing, insulation, humidity and fire protection systems, and double-layer thermal safety glass.

Main Deck Deluxe Ocean View Balcony Room

There are 2 Main Deck Deluxe Ocean View Balcony Rooms. These cabins combine modern styling with Indonesian teak accents and include premium cotton linens, plush bedding, minibar, safe box, and bath amenities.

Upper Deck Ocean View Standard Room

The yacht includes 4 Upper Deck Ocean View Standard Rooms. Positioned higher on the vessel, these cabins are designed with ocean views and advanced comfort systems, including individual climate control and thermal safety glass.

Upper Deck VVIP Room

The Upper Deck VVIP Room is the vessel’s premium accommodation category, with 1 cabin available onboard. It follows the same design philosophy of combining modern aesthetics with Indonesian teak finishes and luxury in-room amenities.

Boat Interior

Cachalo is arranged with indoor and outdoor relaxation spaces designed around tropical liveaboard diving. Guests have access to a private indoor camera station lounge and a 360-degree outdoor sundeck with a Jacuzzi. Laundry service, free Starlink internet, and ocean-view social spaces support longer-range expeditions through remote Indonesian regions.

Food & Drinks

Dining aboard Cachalo combines Indonesian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, and Western flavours with menus that change throughout the voyage. Meals include hotpot, BBQ, Chinese and Western buffets, Indonesian dishes such as Nasi Kuning, Japanese sushi and sashimi, Thai Tom Yum Goong, Mexican dishes including tacos and nachos, American-style burgers and fries, and Filipino cuisine. Two evenings of à la carte dining, one BBQ evening, and one hotpot evening are also included as part of the onboard dining rhythm.

Dive Deck

Cachalo is equipped for diving operations across Indonesia’s tropical waters and provides full rental equipment services, including BCDs, regulators, wetsuits, fins, boots, flashlights, dive computers, sidemount tanks, 15L tanks, and action camera rental. Nitrox is available onboard.

Two reinforced fiberglass dinghy boats equipped with 115HP Yamaha engines support transfers to dive sites. The vessel is designed for both pelagic diving and macro photography itineraries across Raja Ampat, Komodo, Banda Sea, and Alor.

Safety

The vessel operates with an 18-member professional crew that includes the Captain, Chief Engineer, Officers, Dive Instructors, Chefs, Service Staff, and Operations Managers. The Captain holds ANT Level II licensing, and the yacht is equipped with advanced navigation and communication systems designed for Indonesian expedition cruising. The onboard philosophy is centered around “Safety First. Service Above All. Excellence in Every Detail.”

Non-diving Activities

Beyond diving, guests can take part in snorkelling, kayaking, island trekking, fishing, private beach BBQs, drone photography, and cinematic aerial shoots. Some itineraries also include island excursions and sunset private dining experiences on remote beaches.

Itineraries

Cachalo operates itineraries across Raja Ampat, Komodo, Banda Sea, and Alor. Raja Ampat itineraries run primarily between December and April, while Komodo departures focus on May through September conditions. Banda Sea routes operate during April–May and September–November
