The Straits of Patinti, between Halmahera and nearby islands, are known for current, reefs, and fish-rich passages. It is a more adventurous region with strong water movement.
What to see
Reef sharks, jacks, barracuda, fusiliers, turtles, rays, soft corals, sea fans, and schooling fish may be seen.
When To Go Diving
Best during calm transition periods when currents and seas are manageable. Water is usually around 27–30°C.
