The Wellenreng liveaboard blends the spirit of Indonesian wooden boatbuilding with the intimacy of small-group exploration. This 25-metre Phinisi carries only three guest cabins, allowing the Wellenreng Indonesia liveaboard to remain quiet, unhurried, and ideally suited for families, private groups, and divers who value space and privacy. With nine crew members, including the cruise director, the experience remains highly personal as the yacht travels through remote regions of Indonesia.

Cabin Types

Each of the three cabins is designed for comfort across long itineraries in the archipelago. The master cabin includes a king bed, while the two additional cabins feature queen beds. Every room has an additional single bed, individually controlled air-conditioning, daylight portholes, and a small desk with bedside reading lights. Hot-water en-suite bathrooms provide a private and comfortable setting after long days on the water, complemented by high-quality linens, personal bathrobes, a safe for valuables, and toiletries.

Master Cabin

The Wellenreng offers one large master cabin featuring a king-size bed along with an additional single bed. This spacious room includes individually adjusted air-conditioning, daylight portholes, and a private en-suite bathroom equipped with a hot-water shower and toiletries. High-quality linens, a personal bathrobe, bedside reading lights, and a small desk contribute to a comfortable environment throughout the journey.

Queen Cabin

Two queen cabins are available on board, each furnished with a queen-size bed and an additional single bed. Both cabins include individually controlled air-conditioning, daylight portholes, and a private en-suite bathroom with hot-water showers. Guests will find high-quality bed linens, personal bathrobes, toiletries, bedside reading lights, a small desk, and a safe for valuables.

Boat Interior

Inside, the MV Wellenreng liveaboard features an indoor salon arranged for dining or leisure on days when guests prefer shade. A small library includes fish and bird identification books, adding a quiet place for learning between excursions. Throughout the yacht, the design highlights the warmth of wood, the practicality of open circulation, and the relaxed atmosphere typical of Indonesian sailing vessels.

Dive Deck

The Wellenreng liveaboard Indonesia is fully equipped for dedicated scuba itineraries. Nitrox is included, and divers can expect three to four dives per day, including night dives. A 7-metre fiberglass dinghy fitted with individual seats, tank holders, and twin 40-hp engines serves as the main tender, offering smooth access to remote sites. Tanks are available in 12L and 15L aluminum DIN/INT configurations. Freshwater rinse tanks support both equipment and camera maintenance, while a hot-water shower on the dive deck makes post-dive transitions comfortable. Small dive groups led by a local guide keep the experience focused and precise.

Safety

Essential safety equipment includes oxygen and first-aid supplies for emergency response. The vessel remains structured for itineraries in regions with changing conditions, supported by its experienced crew and operational procedures.

Non-Diving Activities

Beyond the water, the MV Wellenreng liveaboard Indonesia accommodates a range of activities such as snorkelling, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. The shaded observation deck, outfitted with beanbags and generous seating, becomes a central place to enjoy Indonesian sunsets or simply rest in the breeze. A dedicated sundeck with lounge chairs and cushions provides additional outdoor space.

Itineraries

The yacht sails two primary regions: Komodo National Park and Raja Ampat, each offering distinct landscapes and underwater environments.

In Komodo, itineraries run for twelve days and explore volcanic islands, white-sand beaches, rugged coastlines, and UNESCO-listed protected areas. Underwater, guests encounter a mix of pelagic and macro life. Dive sites range from canyons and underwater mounds to sloping reefs and steep walls. Water temperatures vary from 22°C in the south to 29°C in the north, and visibility ranges from 15 to 30 metres. Marine life commonly includes manta rays, reef sharks, giant trevallies, nudibranchs, schooling fish, turtles, groupers, dolphins, and octopus. Trips start and end in Labuan Bajo.

In Raja Ampat, the Wellenreng Indonesia route travels through the heart of the Coral Triangle, a region known for some of the highest marine biodiversity on the planet. With more than 1,500 species of reef fish, hundreds of coral species, and nutrient-rich waters supporting manta rays, wobbegong sharks, trevallies, turtles, and schools of pelagic fish, the itinerary offers a dense range of encounters. Visibility often reaches 20–30 metres, with water temperatures around 29°C. Trips begin and end in Sorong and run for thirteen days.

Dive 3—Four Kings: Raja Ampat, translated into English, means four kings. It’s no surprise that this spectacular dive site is the name of the area. Four Kings are four steep pinnacles rising out of deeper depths, each covered in soft coral and colorful tunicates. The range of colors is mindblowing. It’s also an action-packed site with schools of jacks, barracuda, and surgeonfish. If you’re lucky, a manta will be waiting for you at one of the cleaning stations.

Day 3 | Misool Marine Park - Central
Dive 1— Eagle’s Nest: We start the morning with a thrilling dive at Eagle’s Nest, where you’ll find an incredibly healthy reef and diverse marine life. There’s even a good chance of reef and oceanic manta sightings.
Dive 2— Magic Mountain: Also known as Karang Bayangan or “Shadow Reef,” is a submerged pinnacle with tons of action! The current brings nutrient waters where massive schools of fish congregate. You’ll be amazed watching trevally and tuna hunt while reef sharks pass by. Magic Mountain is one of the best dive sites in Misool, and we guarantee you’ll surface with a big smile!
Dive 3—Nudi Rock: The middle island in the Fiabacet group has two shrub-like trees resembling a nudibranch. Below the water, divers will be immersed in a myriad of hard and soft corals and sea fans. The dive is spectacular from beginning to end!
Jane’s Beach: We will spend sunset relaxing on Jane’s Beach. It is a remote and quiet place with a white sandy beach and lagoons for kayaking. It’s a perfect spot for a sunset drink and swapping dive stories from a fantastic diving day.

Day 4| Misool Marine Park - Central

Day 5| Misool Marine Park - Wagmob
Dive 1— Caves & Walls: On Pulau Farondi, we will explore a series of caves and walls descending to 30 meters. You can find large groupers and sweetlips in some of the overhang caves. Don’t forget to look for macro critters on the walls.

Snorkel in Jellyfish Lake: Lenmakana Jellyfish Lake boasts an exotic allure that captivates visitors with its unique charm—snorkel with jellyfish without stingers! These spineless creatures form colonies in a saline lagoon within the scenic landscapes of South Misool. Despite their notorious reputation for venomous stings, the jellyfish in Lenmakana are surprisingly sting-free.
Ancient Wall Paintings Excursion: This area has at least 40 prehistoric sites with Austronesian paintings. The sites display images of marine life, plants, humans, tools, and boats. The paintings are believed to date as far back as 3,000 – 5,000 years ago.

Day 6| Misool Marine Park - Balbulol
Dive 1— Love Potion #9: This site sits in a maze of spectacular submerged reefs. Colorful colors, schooling fish, and big predators make this site a favorite among many divers.
Dive 2— Love Potion Wall: On the north side of the Love Potion site is a wall incrusted in vibrant soft and hard corals. Divers will have difficulty deciding to look at the plethora of reef fish or macro critters.
Dive 3 or Kayak in Balbulol Lagoons: In the afternoon, guests have the option of going for a third dive or kayaking in Balbulol Lagoons. Balbulol is famous for its dramatic karst islands and hidden lagoons with clear turquoise water, which make it a perfect spot for kayaking and snorkeling.

Day 7| Misool Marine Park - Balbulol

Day 8| Central Raja - Batanta
Arefi Village Tour: We’ll spend the morning walking around Arefi Village, a small fishing community on Batanta Island. Greet children as they walk to school or watch local fisherman bring in their catch.
Arefi Reef: Features a gently sloping reef with large coral bommies teaming with reef fish. One can also spot sweetlips, reef sharks, and turtles. Don’t forget to look down because Arefi Reef is also a good macro site.
Waterfalls & Mangrove Forest Expedition: In the afternoon, we’ll explore an extensive mangrove forest. A small hike through the jungle will lead us to an idealistic waterfall where your group will be the only ones swimming in the cool, crisp waters.
