Samambaia is a modern 2-mast schooner that embarked on her maiden voyage in 2015. Designed for comfort and convenience, the boat features a dedicated room for managing photo gear, including a camera table and charging station. Guests can relax on the shaded sundeck or enjoy a soothing massage. The yacht's route covers all the well-known dive spots of Indonesia - Komodo Island and Raja Ampat, with the added convenience of not needing to arrange a domestic flight when traveling to Komodo, as the journey ends in Bali.
Boat Interior and Exterior
The yacht caters to only 14 guests, ensuring a personalized experience. There are 2 cabins with twin beds for sharing, two rooms with double beds, and another two cabins with convertible beds that can offer either double or twin occupancy. All rooms are en-suite and equipped with air conditioning, hot and cold water, portholes, and luggage areas. The boat provides excellent relaxation facilities, including a large sun deck on the upper deck with sun loungers and an onboard massage service.
Diving
The spacious diving deck is comfortable for preparing for dives. The boat provides DIN and Yoke tanks, and nitrox is available free of charge, enhancing the liveaboard diving experience. The dive guides are experienced and will lead you to the best dive sites.
Safety and Navigation
The vessel is equipped with GPS, navigation and communication devices, and liferafts, ensuring complete comfort and safety during your scuba diving expeditions.
Diving Features
The yacht's itineraries include diving at Raja Ampat, the Banda Sea, Komodo National Park, and Alor, some of the best and most well-known dive destinations in Indonesia. Raja Ampat holds the world record for the number of underwater species seen in one dive, with over 600 coral species and 200 fish species. Komodo National Park is another top destination for diving, featuring varied underwater landscapes and a great number of species. The trip program also includes trekking to see the famous Komodo dragons on the mainland.
Non-Diving Facilities
Samambaia offers a great vacation for divers and non-divers alike. Non-divers can enjoy activities such as kayaking, wakeboarding, and snorkeling. The boat also has an onboard masseuse for additional relaxation.
When to Go
Komodo water temperatures may fluctuate from 23 to 28°C (73-82°F). Southern dive sites are best visited from December through April, while Komodo's northern waters generally provide better visibility year-round. The best time to visit Raja Ampat is from October to April, offering optimal diving conditions.
Samambaia offers it all: comfortable living areas, relaxing facilities, and a variety of diving and non-diving activities. This makes it an excellent choice for liveaboard dive trips, liveaboard diving holidays, and scuba dive adventures in Indonesia. Whether you are a seasoned diver or a beginner, the yacht promises a memorable experience amidst some of the most beautiful underwater ecosystems in the world
