Old boat, strong currents, ok food and Manta experiences like no other
This is my 9th Aggressor Liveaboard so forgive me if I write too much The bad I did receive my own room as someone backed out last minute. Which was a godsend as the first night the AC leaked on to what would have been my bed ( right next to head of bed). They said it was because the boat was rocking, ( but still leaked even in calm waters) so doubt their response. Then the next day (day 2) in heavy rains, water starting coming through one of the light sockets in the roof (not good on a wooden boat) and then in multiple points in the room. The crew moved quickly to address, although part of the runners in the room where held in place with Duct tape, which probably means it happened before. ( i could attach pics if needed) The toilet head bucket should have been cleaned daily as the used toilet paper was making bucket pretty disgusting. In the lower decks room 1,2 and 3 the boats stinks *( maybe the design of boat) but the air fresher would go off every 10 mins to try and mask smell In room 1 its not possible to turn light off from bed. ( small inconvenience ) The good The food was ok i have had worse on aggressor boats but i have better. (there is of course no shortage of food) The Hard and soft corals in Indonesia i think are the most pristine i have seen any where in the world. The staff took care of everything gear related, from helping you out of wetsuits to setting up all your gear, and assisting with nitrox checks. After every dive the crew serenaded you upon returning to the boats. As they only offer 4 dives a day ( 3 day , 1 night) they offer 70 min dives. (for which i believe 3 people had to start using the larger tanks) We had some amazing Manta sighting in a 3/4 knot drift dives see 3-8 ( depending on group) which we got so close with could touch ( which of course we did not) During a couple dives the currents changed during the dives, so i would recommend having 50 + dives for this trip. Strong squirrelling currents usually equal lots of life, but they can be stressful if not experienced and there was one we should have not started. Overall Ok trip. but will not be rushing back,
