Program
Day 1:
Meet & greet at the airport. Group transfers to the port. Onboarding, meeting the crew & briefing. As soon as all guests are on board and are holding their welcome drink the Mantamae is ready to leave the harbour. You will be introduced to the crew members and you will be shown around in order to start feeling at home on the Mantamae. Dinner will be served about 18:00, so you may gather together with our other guests and enjoy the dinner as you know the distance between Sorong and Misool is around 110 nautical miles so after dinner the captain and his crew will be very happy to set sail to your dream destination for about eight to nine hours while you enjoy your first night sleep on board Mantamae.
Day 2:
Misool, after our little breakfast we shall have the first at about 08.00 am. The spot we choose is a calm and relaxing place and gives you the opportunity to get used to the region. After this first check-dive, you have the second part of your nourishing breakfast. At 11.00 am we head to the dive spot called “Blue Hole“, which has become legendary on the Mantamae. Overhangs, huge grottoes and dive troughs, drop offs and all covered in fantastic corals is what makes this place so great. Lunch is served at 12.30 and you’ll have time to relax until 15:00 to get back to “Blue Holes“. Since this spot is so huge and offers so much diversity, we can easily offer several dives here. After this dive, there is enough time to go on a trip on our zodiacs in order to admire the wonderful landscape that gives a hand to what you have seen under water. Do you feel like giving a try on the wakeboard or on the water-skis, you are ever so welcome. At 18:30 start, the night dive, and dinner will be served after the dive Mantamae will stay on nice and calm anchorage for overnight.
Day 3:
The Mantamae will continue to cruise southwards to the group of isles called “Fabiajet“about two hours. Picturesque landscapes and wonderful reefs are waiting for you. The abundance of corals, different sponges and fish are nearly unbeatable. We allow ourselves to offer several dives at the same spots since they have so much to offer. Theses masses of fish swimming around those wonderful coral gardens are an impressive view and will satisfy every diver’s wishes and dreams. Of course, we will come across precious macro as well: nudibranchs, sea horses, barramundi and lots more are on the program! For the night Mantamae will anchor in a very calm and shallow place with hardly any current, but loads of nudibranchs, pipefishes, cuttle dish, ghost pipefish! Want to take a picture? Go ahead; it´s all there for you!
Day 4:
Today we shall go eastwards to „Wayil Batan“. for relaxing one and a half hour to Little island with beautiful reefs full of life in a topographically interesting landscape are tempting. Great schools of fish as well as pygmy seahorses will be shown by our guides unless your eyes are well trained and you´ll see it all by yourself. Barracudas, batfish, and snappers are cruising in the open blue. With the powerful sunshine breaking through the water the rocks, covered in colourful corals are presenting a breathtaking sight. Our night dives will do at the same place as the dives during the day, so you can compare the different creatures!
Day 5:
Overnight the Mantamae will reach the Misool. We offer an excursion with the zodiac that will last all day. Impressing tombstone of the natives will be on our schedule. This excursion will take us 20 km into the fantastic island labyrinth, where we drive through channels and valleys with our fast zodiacs. Walks to caves on the land, as well as a visit to a cave which we can only enter with the zodiac in order to see tiny bats, that hide from the daylight and sleep during the day. The last cave that we enter is a big as a cathedral and can only be entered by walking. Whoever believes that this program is a too exhausting can, of course, stay on board and go for dives (we can offer this alternative since we have three big zodiacs on board). The dives will be done close to where the Mantamae is anchored. Sometimes the visibility is bad and there is a pretty strong current, but of course the underwater world is a temptation as all others in the region after all day activities Mantamae set sail for another adventure or heading for north of Raja Ampat for about 11 hours during the night and will arrive in the morning.
Day 6:
In Waigeo, we have the chance to visit a pearl farm. Depending on where they stand with the pearl production we will be invited to have a closer look on how the pearls are being produced. Of course, we have been diving before and after this visit and the highlight of these dives where the pygmy seahorses. Those cute little creatures are hidden in the gorgonians in all colours available: red, yellow and orange! The only creatures that are offering more colours of the rainbow are nudibranchs and the pipefish and the boat will steam to Wayag during the night for five hours.
Day 7:
Wayag is completely different to what you have seen so far. The stand alone rocks in the middle of the sea are always worth a picture or two. Splendid visibility, white beaches with black coral gardens, sweetlips, catfish and different kinds of rays are part of these dives. And since it is such a fantastic area above and under water we shall stay for the next day and steam to Wofoh island for five hours in the night to get to the destination.

Day 1:
Meet & greet at the airport. Group transfer to the port. Onboarding, meeting the crew & briefing. Once on board, welcome drink in hand, you will be introduced to the rest of the crew, shown around and immediately start to feel at home. We’ll have a check muck dive at Teluhu Bay. The Intensity of marine life here is unrivalled; critters benefit from the nutrient-rich currents pushing into this bay but are still protected by sheltered waters in the many small coves. This unique combination creates conditions that nourish an incredible eco system, making it one of the richest and most interesting places to dive.
In the late afternoon we’ll set sail for the Banda Islands.
Day 2:
Banda Islands
The Banda area offers a good variety of dive sites. Volcanic rocks at Pulau Pisang create a deep swim-through which you can drift through and view the sponge-covered wall on the other side, perhaps spotting Moral eels at the top of the wall as well as schools of bump head parrotfish. We’ll also dive at the black sand of Batu Kapal in Banda’s harbour, a submerged pinnacle, breaking the surface of the water in the shape of a boat which offers muck diving with flying gurnards spreading their electric blue wings, sea moth, nudibranchs and the mandarin fish. Various types of fish are present here in vast numbers, along with huge gorgonian fans and some truly monumental sponges. We’ll also have a wall dive at Tanjung Burung with strong current.
Day 3:
Pulau Hatta
Once known as Rozengain, Pulau Hatta is a stunning flying-saucer-shaped island of jungle-swathed limestone trimmed with white sand. It offers some of the finest underwater panoramas and is considered one of the best snorkeling sites in the world.
Long white beaches edged with swaying palms, unspoilt reefs and superb diving at the Hatta Arch, Takat Hatta Reef and Tj Buton make Hatta everyone’s favorite destination.
Day 4:
Pulau Run
Early morning we’ll sail to Pulau Run to dive at Tanjung Noret, Tanjun Lokon and Pulau Nailaka, all great locations with white sandy slopes interspaced with large coral heads and healthy reefs. This region is full of unexplored dive sites, and the Banda Sea is the perfect location for the discovery of new underwater treasures.
This tiny island has a fascinating history too; in 1667, the English traded Run for New Amsterdam (now Manhattan), giving the Dutch full control of the Banda archipelago and the nutmeg trade.
Day 5:
Pulau Ai
Very few divers witness the true nature of Pulau Ai’s unspoilt reef – a secret in the middle of the Banda Sea reached by live-aboard only. This area acts as an oasis for pelagics that cruise by these pristine hard coral reefs cloaked in clouds of fish – Napoleon wrasse, green and hawksbill turtle, tuna, rainbow runner, huge schools of barracuda mixing with schools of bannerfish, redtooth triggers and fusiliers.
Batu Payung, Umbrella Rock, is named for the many overhangs along the island walls, which divers can drift along and enjoy the thousands of tiny reef fish darting in and out of the cracks and crevices. We’ll have also night dive at Mandarine City.
Day 6-7:
Banda Island
Back at Banda Neira, you will have the chance to explore the historic and cultural legacies of the fables islands, center of the former lucrative spice trade. Wandering through the town, you’ll observe the Dutch colonial architecture which remains to this day, as well as Fort Belgica with its incredible views overlooking the bay.
During the day, we’ll dive around the Lighthouse Reef, one of the Lava Flow sites under the volcano, and we’ll also have a night dive close the harbor at Mandarine City.
Day 8-9:
Pulau Suanggi
Early morning, we cruise towards the northern island of Banda Neira, Pulau Suanggi, stopping on the way to dive at Pulau Pisang Barat. At Pulau Suanggi, we’ll dive at Tanjung Selatan and Tanjung Utara where it’s possible to see schooling of hammerhead sharks. Late afternoon we’ll sail to Nusa Laut.
Day 10:
Nusa Laut – Pulau Molana
Early morning, we arrive at the beautiful Ahmet Reef in Nusa Laut. The locals here have introduced sustainable methods to protect their reef and their efforts have produced great results. We’ll dive at Nildesperandum and at Karang Duisburg where white tips and reef sharks patrol the depths, playful turtles can be spotted, and In October and November there’s the chance of diving with Hammerhead sharks.) We might choose to visit the fort and the waterfall here, or sail to Pulau Molana for one more wall dive. The shallow wall breaks in places and in the sandy slopes, ribbon eels, small pipefish and moray eels can be found. Above the reef, turtles are seen feeding in the beautiful coral garden.
Day 11:

Those cute little creatures are hidden in the gorgonians in all colours available: red, yellow and orange! The only creatures that are offering more colours of the rainbow are nudibranchs and the pipefish and the boat will steam to Wayag during the night for five hours.

Day 1:
Meet & greet at the airport. Group transfer to the port. Onboarding, meeting the crew & briefing, check dive. The small island of Sebayur offers nice diving just a few miles from Labuan Bajo’s harbour. Sebayur Kecil and Mini Wall are perfect for warm-up dives and you are likely to see bronze sweepers, lion-fish, eels, and possibly the resident ghost pipefish. The staggered tiers of the neighbouring patch reef are home to many different species of nudibranchs, pipefish, sea fans, sponges and even a few twin-spot lion-fish. In addition to diving day-time, we’ll offer a night dive every day if conditions are favourable.
Day 2:
Gili Lawa Laut – Gili Lawa Darat
Two celebrated dive sites await you just north of Gili Lawa Laut Island. Crystal Rock and Castle Rock are both incredible locations, boasting the key elements for any impressive dive site: a wide variety of healthy corals covering the reef, plus tons of fish both big and small and all sizes in between! Cauldron is another exhilarating dive site, and the healthy hard coral reefs off the island of Gili Lawa Darat offer good night diving. Between dives, we may visit Gili Lawa Laut Island for a short trek to the top of the hill for a wonderful view over the Komodo-Flores channel. Crystal Rock: The rock jutting out of the surrounding crystal-clear waters
explains how this site got its name. But what is truly memorable here are the large schools of fusilliers and anthias flitting over the gorgeous soft corals and impressive table corals. In the deep blue, you may also see large tuna, mackerel and other fish schooling around a small mound to the northwest. A lone eagle ray is often spotted here cruising in the currents. Castle Rock: Castle Rock is a submerged pinnacle situated a kilometre north of Crystal Rock. Its exposed location means strong currents but experienced divers will love the thrills to be had on this dive. The main action comes from watching the staggering amount of fish such as batfish, groupers, midnight snappers and impressive schools of barracuda and surgeons whipping past. Of course, divers aren’t the only ones interested in the huge amount of fish here, which explains the giant trevally as well as white-tips, black-tips and grey reef sharks hunting around for their next meal.
Cauldron: The channel between Gili Lawa Laut and Gili Lawa Darat forms a dive site with interesting topography. The dive starts with a drift along a sloping reef and sandy bottom. The shallows are extremely rich with fish. Bumphead parrots are common, and aggregate here to spawn every year around April. Sharks and schools of batfish also stay in the passage. Crocodile fish and lion-fish hunt in the small schools of glass-fish, and pygmies and frogfish live here as well eagle rays and reef sharks. The dive site then shallows out with the ‘bull ring’ circle opening out and ending in a flat rock plateau and offers a chance to see manta rays.
Day 3:
Makassar Strait
Following a light breakfast, you will dive at Batu Bolong (Hollow Rock), a world-class dive site in the north of the Komodo Strait. The dramatic underwater landscape with its great walls is home to an incredible variety of sea life and corals. Sharks, giant trevallies, unicorns, rainbow runners, turtles, barracudas and napoleon wrasse are spotted here frequently. Later in the day, you will enjoy Tatawa Besar, a thrilling drift dive
that starts off from the northwestern tip of Tatawa and continues down the western side at a depth of 15 to 20 meters. The surrounding fish life is profuse and you will see an endless field of stunning orange soft corals as you glide along. Swim past coral heads inhabited by schools of sweetlips and batfish and look out for turtles feeding on the reef. Mantas have been encountered here as well. At Makassar Strait we can see mantas at their cleaning station. This is an exhilarating drift dive along the shallow flat bottom interspersed with patches of coral reef, where there’s a chance to see manta rays, turtles, eagle rays and white tip and black tip reef sharks. It’s also a great site for snorkeling.
Day 4:
Tetawa Besar – Tetawa Kecil – Siaba Island
After one more dive at Tatawa Besar we’ll sail to Tatawa Kecil, where we’ll dive in a beautiful coral garden with brisk currents, an unspoiled reef and unsurpassed topography comprising boulders, walls, overhangs and caves. This site is home to vast numbers of groupers, snappers and trevallies. The west side of this small rocky outcrop presents a fantastic underwater terrain with enormous slabs of rock that have been worn down to form channels, canyons, caves and swim-throughs. On the north plateau crocodile fish lie on the scenic reef alongside a host of reef fish and schooling barracuda. After the dive, we’ll cruise to Siaba Besar and moor offshore for the night. The white beach of Mauan is the perfect place for a sunset barbecue.
Day 5:
Pantai Merah – Batu Tiga – Rinca
Pantai Merah, or Pinky Beach, is the most frequently visited site in the park. Snorkelling from the beach is excellent, and there is a good dive around a rock that breaks the surface but is completely covered at high tide. There as a great variety of tame fish life here, and a good selection of critters including leaf scorpionfish, blue-ribbon eels, crocodile fish, and nudibranchs. This site is also good for night dives.
The next dive site is Batu Tiga lying southeast of Tanjung Kuning in the Linta Strait. An excellent big fish dive and without doubt one of the most current-affected sites in Komodo, this dive is for more advanced and experienced divers. It’s crucial to hit the site at the perfect time, preferably at the northwestern side of the three rocks (Batu Tiga is three rocks in Bahasa Indonesia). The rewards are many! A rocky reef extends below the surface out towards Komodo; most of the coral growth here is stunted due to the strong prevailing currents. Down in the deeper water to the west and below the reef, big boulders offer excellent habitat for grouper and other creatures. Large grouper, mantas, giant trivially and other pelagic are frequently seen here.
In the afternoon we’ll arrive to one of Komodo’s main non-diving jumping points, Rinca Island. Here, we’ll hike for up to two and a half hours to see the legendary prehistoric lizard Komodo dragons.
After that excursion we’ll drop anchor at Bat Island, where thousands of flying foxes make their home in the mangrove forest. The sight of these magnificent bats taking off from the trees at sunset is truly amazing.
Day 6:
We’ll sail back to Sebayor Island where we’ll enjoy yet another amazing snorkelling site.
Check-out from the yacht, group transfer to the airport.
Routes can be affected by adverse weather conditions and unforeseen events, force majeure or other similar reasons
