Leisure deck and sundeck for enjoying island scenery and sunsets
Itineraries combining manta rays, sea turtles, jellyfish lakes, and rare macro life
Queenesia II liveaboard brings classic Phinisi character to Indonesia, combining ironwood construction, private en-suite cabins, and routes shaped around Derawan Archipelago and Lembeh Strait. Built in 2016, this 32-metre Buginese schooner has a 7.5-metre beam, ironwood construction, and a cruising speed of 7–8 knots. The Queenesia II Indonesia experience brings together scuba diving, warm deck time, snorkelling, island scenery, and rare marine encounters. From manta rays and sea turtles in Derawan to blue-ringed octopuses and hairy frogfish in Lembeh Strait, the liveaboard is designed for divers who enjoy both wide-angle marine life and close-focus critter hunting.

Boat Interior

Queenesia II Indonesia liveaboard accommodates up to 16 guests in 7 private en-suite cabins. Each cabin has a private bathroom, individual air-conditioning unit, and charging ports, creating a comfortable personal space between dives and island activities.

Inside, the vessel includes a main lobby, kitchen, guide room, captain’s room, and separate crew area. The layout reflects the practical rhythm of a traditional Phinisi boat, with guest spaces and working areas arranged for multi-day diving trips through Indonesia.

Outdoor relaxation is centred around the leisure deck at the front of the vessel and the sundeck on the top level. These open-air areas give guests space to rest between dives, spend time with friends and family, or follow the changing island views as the boat moves between dive regions.

Dive Deck

The dive setup on Queenesia II includes 12-litre aluminium tanks, 2 compressors, DIN adapters, underwater dive lights, assorted dive equipment, and a diving tender. This arrangement supports scuba diving activities across the vessel’s Indonesian itineraries, from manta ray encounters and turtle areas in Derawan to macro-focused black sand diving in Lembeh Strait.

Safety

Safety equipment on board includes an E.P.I.R.B distress system, VHF/DSC/SSB radio, emergency liferafts, fire alarm and extinguishers, emergency flares, bilge pump alarm, engine room CCTV, medical oxygen, and first aid kits. Navigation equipment includes radar, GPS, depth sounder, fish finder, search lights, and a satellite phone. These systems support the MV Queenesia II liveaboard during crossings between islands, dive sites, and remote coastal areas.

Non-diving Activities

A trip on Queenesia II liveaboard is not limited to scuba diving. Guests can spend time on the leisure deck, relax on the sundeck, snorkel, stroll along quiet beaches, enjoy sunset viewpoints, or watch huge flying bats moving into the night sky. These land and water-based activities add a slower rhythm to the journey, balancing diving days with time above the surface.

Itineraries

The Derawan Archipelago route brings divers to Derawan, Sangalaki, and Kakaban. Manta rays, schooling barracudas, and abundant sea turtles are part of the underwater setting, while Kakaban adds one of the area’s most unusual natural features: a stingless jellyfish lake
