Nine of these cabins are designed for twin occupancy, while two suite staterooms feature large double beds for added comfort. The spacious and airy lounge and dining areas provide the perfect setting for relaxation between dives, complemented by multiple sun decks for those who enjoy basking in the sun.

Dive Deck
The dive deck is generously sized to offer ample space for divers to gear up and store their equipment with ease. It includes a large camera table and charging stations for underwater photography enthusiasts, as well as personalized hangers for drying beach towels provided onboard. The liveaboard is equipped with two large high-pressure air compressors and a highly efficient Nitrox membrane system, ensuring minimal wait time between dives. For site transfers, there are two RIB tender boats, one powered by a 100 HP Yamaha engine and the other by a 40 HP Yamaha.

Safety
Safety is a priority aboard the Ghazala Explorer, equipped with all necessary safety gear, including life rafts, a first aid kit, an oxygen kit, life jackets, a firefighting system, smoke detectors, and fire alarms.

Itineraries
This liveaboard offers a variety of Egyptian itineraries, covering the most popular Red Sea dive sites. Highlights include the "golden triangle" of Brothers, Daedalus, and Elphinstone for wall and wreck diving amidst vibrant corals. Wreck enthusiasts will appreciate the northern Red Sea routes, where numerous ships met their end. Alternatively, divers can opt for a combined itinerary featuring the best of Brothers Islands and the North.

When to Go
Egypt offers excellent diving conditions year-round, with water temperatures reaching up to 30°C (86°F) in the summer and dropping to around 22°C (71.6°F) in February. The autumn and spring months are considered the peak season for diving. Sudanese waters are best dived from October to July, with December to July being the prime time for encountering hammerheads, making any time a great opportunity to book a diving adventure on the Ghazala Explorer for an unforgettable underwater experience

Frequently Asked Questions About Ghazala Explorer

What famous sites are included in the program of Ghazala Adventure liveaboard?

Each itinerary aboard Ghazala Adventure reveals a different facet of the Red Sea’s dazzling underwater geography. For those drawn to raw marine drama, the North & Brothers Islands route offers a perfect blend of steep walls, spectacular wrecks, and pelagic life. The Brothers are world-renowned for encounters with oceanic whitetips, hammerheads, and even manta rays, while wrecks like the Numidia bring a sense of timeless awe, lying upright and draped in vibrant soft coral.

On northern circuits, the SS Thistlegorm stands out as an unmissable highlight. This legendary WWII wreck, with its intact cargo of motorcycles and rifles, buzzes with marine life. Abu Nuhas contributes even more steel, Giannis D, Carnatic, Chrisoula K, each wreck telling its own sunken story. Reefs surrounding them flourish with hard and soft coral gardens that attract reef sharks, fusiliers, and playful anthias.

Little Gubal Island is a favourite for both macro hunters and those who enjoy more relaxed reef dives. The Barge Wreck here is particularly photogenic, often teeming with batfish and ghost pipefish.

For reef lovers, Ras Mohamed National Park adds towering pinnacles and dense fish schools to the itinerary, while Shark Reef and Yolanda Reef provide some of the best dive sites for wide-angle photography.

Other itineraries may venture into Tiran and Dahab, revealing dramatic topography beneath the Sinai Mountains. Drop-offs at Thomas Reef or Jackson Reef meet nutrient-rich currents that sustain coral plateaus and attract large schools of barracuda.

Those on the Totally Wrecked itinerary will be immersed in history. Beyond the Thistlegorm and Abu Nuhas, you’ll explore Rosalie Moller, the Ulysses, and the tragic Salem Express, each resting in different states of decay and ecological renewal.

Whatever route you choose, this Red Sea liveaboard journey offers a dive into both Egypt’s maritime past and its vibrant marine present

What is included in the Ghazala Adventure liveaboard trip price? Are there extra fees?

The Ghazala Adventure liveaboard trip price covers everything you need for a seamless Red Sea experience. You’ll enjoy full-board meals including buffet-style dining, fresh local cuisine, and all-day tea, coffee, and soft drinks. Certified Nitrox divers can make use of free Nitrox, and all guests have access to WiFi, with up to 40GB shared among passengers depending on coverage.

Diving services include tanks, weights, and the guidance of 2 or 3 experienced dive guides, depending on group size. All necessary permits, marine park fees, harbour taxes, and round-trip transfers to/from the vessel are included.

Not included are visa fees, dive gear rental, special tank requests, and any personal purchases from the onboard shop. While crew gratuities are not compulsory, a 10% tip based on the trip price is recommended and greatly appreciated. Please note that equipment rental, extra items, and alcoholic beverages are payable onboard

How do I book a Ghazala Adventure liveaboard cruise, and what’s the cancellation policy?

You can place your booking online and secure your spot with a 30% deposit. The remaining balance is due 65 days prior to departure. The earlier you book, the more options you’ll have for selecting furnished, comfortable, and non-smoking cabins, many of which feature double beds, panoramic windows, air conditioning, and en-suite bathrooms.

A Safe, Peaceful, and Unique Liveaboard Experience
This was my 13th liveaboard, and I can honestly say it stood out in many ways. Compared to my last trip on the same route back in September 2022 —when Daedalus had 27 boats—this time most dive sites were practically empty. That made a huge difference in the overall experience. One thing I truly appreciated was the fire safety drill. For the first time in all my Egypt liveaboards, we didn’t just get a briefing—we actually tested the escape routes and life jackets. It really highlighted how seriously safety is taken on this boat. The food was also well done: the buffet was not excessive, the portions were just right, and the presentation had a nice, almost esoteric touch. A small drawback is that some facilities are showing their age—for example, the A/C didn’t always work properly. That said, I hear a refurbishment is coming soon. The only real negative for me was that one of the guides seemed overly focused on filming sharks up close. While the footage he shared was impressive, in my own videos he appears in nearly every shot—even though I wasn’t diving in his group. On the positive side, I really valued the option to do unguided dives, which gave a great sense of freedom underwater. Overall, it was a fantastic trip: peaceful dive sites, strong focus on safety, and an experience that felt both professional and unique.
