Cabin Types

Luxurious Double and Twin Cabins

The main deck of Royal Evolution features four well-appointed cabins designed for comfort and functionality. Two of these are fitted with double queen beds, while the other two offer two separate beds arranged side by side. Each cabin provides direct access from the central corridor and is thoughtfully laid out to create a sense of space and privacy.

Natural light enters through windows, and interiors are finished in warm wood tones with simple, clean design. Guests will find generous storage options for personal belongings, as well as a dedicated desk and mirror area.

All cabins are equipped with individually controlled air conditioning and ensuite bathrooms, featuring walk-in showers and modern fixtures. Practical touches, such as bedside reading lights and charging outlets, enhance everyday convenience. Positioned on the main deck, these cabins are easily accessible to the indoor lounge and dive deck, offering a smooth transition between rest and activity.

Standard Twin Cabins

Located on the lower deck, the Standard Twin cabins aboard the Royal Evolution liveaboard Egypt are designed to provide divers with a practical and restful environment between dives. Each cabin is equipped with two single beds placed side by side, creating a shared space that remains comfortable and easy to navigate.

Lower deck cabins are fitted with individually controlled air conditioning to ensure a pleasant temperature throughout the journey, no matter the season. Storage areas are built into the room design, offering space for luggage and personal items. A compact worktop with a mirror provides added functionality, whether for organizing dive accessories or preparing for the day.

Every cabin features a private en-suite bathroom with a toilet, sink, and hot water shower. These facilities are maintained to a high standard, allowing for privacy and comfort at any time. Fresh towels are supplied for both cabin and dive deck use, and cabins are cleaned regularly by the onboard team.

The layout of the lower deck ensures quiet during nighttime hours, providing an ideal space to unwind after a full diving schedule. These non-smoking rooms are conveniently located near the stairway that leads to the indoor lounge and dining area, allowing quick access to social spaces while maintaining a sense of personal retreat.

The Royal Evolution liveaboard Egypt has a large dive deck at the stern that offers ample space for guests to prepare comfortably, featuring 28 individual diving lockers to securely store personal equipment, along with deck towels and benches for equipment setup. Shower facilities are conveniently located on the dive deck, allowing guests to rinse off saltwater immediately after exiting the water. Continuous maintenance and onboard monitoring systems contribute to a secure environment for all on board during every liveaboard trip.

Itinerary

The Royal Evolution Egypt liveaboard operates both Egypt-only and Egypt–Sudan routes. The Egyptian itinerary includes spectacular wrecks, coral reefs, and large pelagics in areas like St. John's and the Brothers. The extended itinerary includes dives at Elba Reef, a remote location near the Egypt–Sudan border. This route offers access to less-frequented dive sites featuring pristine coral formations and diverse marine life. Due to its isolated position and limited traffic, the area remains largely untouched, providing a different experience compared to more popular northern routes.

Boat Specification

The MV Royal Evolution liveaboard Egypt is a robust steel monohull measuring 39 meters in length with a beam of 8.6 meters, designed specifically to provide stability and comfort while cruising the Red Sea at speeds up to 13 knots. Powered by two powerful 1100 hp Cummins engines and carrying a fuel capacity of 40,000 liters, it can operate over a vast range of 2000 nautical miles, allowing for extended journeys with significant autonomy. The vessel is built with advanced noise and vibration insulation, enhancing guest comfort throughout the voyage. Safety and durability have been prioritized through the use of heavy steel construction, earning Royal Evolution a reputation among dive boat operators in Egypt for reliability and professional service.

Dive Facilities

The diving facilities on the Royal Evolution are extensive and tailored to the needs of serious divers. Compressors include one Bauer HP compressor and two Coltrisub HP units to ensure efficient tank fills, alongside multiple low-pressure compressors for Nitrox blends up to 40%.

The vessel complies fully with SOLAS regulations and holds certifications from Bureau Veritas, ensuring it is built and maintained as a passenger ship with the highest safety ratings. Communication tools include HF radio with DSC, VHF radios with DSC, and portable units for tenders, and satellite phone access, supporting constant contact and emergency response. Regular safety and fire fighting drills and thorough onboard briefings ensure both crew and guests are prepared for any situation.

Food & Drinks

Meals are served buffet-style in the dining room, featuring a mix of local food and Western food. Snacks, tea, coffee, drinking water, fresh fruit, and soft drinks are available throughout the day. The chef provides vegetarian options, and guests with other dietary needs can request alternatives in advance.

Throughout the boat, non-smoking policies maintain a fresh environment, and ample wardrobes and storage provide convenience for guests.

Frequently Asked Questions About Royal Evolution

What destinations and dive sites does the Royal Evolution cover?

The MS Royal Evolution operates in the Red Sea region, covering both the northern Red Sea and the Deep South near the Egypt–Sudan border. Classic routes include the Brothers Islands, Daedalus Reef, St. John’s Reef, Zabargad Island, and Rocky Island, where scuba divers can experience coral gardens, steep walls, and shark encounters. The boat is also the only liveaboard permitted to sail into Deep South Sudan, reaching remote areas such as Elba Reef with its pristine coral fans. Historic wrecks are featured too, including the Ulysses wreck and Aida wreck near Gubal Island, as well as the Abu Nuhas wrecks. This variety allows every dive trip to combine dramatic reefs, pelagic sightings, and cultural touches from ports in Egypt and, on longer routes, South Sudan

Are there extra costs such as park fees, visas, or gratuities?

Additional costs depend on the itinerary. Port fees and Marine Park fees are applied, with supplements for routes to the Deep South and Elba Reef due to special permits. Entry visas are required for international visitors and can often be arranged on arrival. Gratuities for the crew are separate from the package. Nitrox fills are available for an extra charge, and so are alcoholic drinks. Soft beverages and drinking water are usually included, along with fresh juices

What marine life can divers expect on the Royal Evolution liveaboard Egypt?

The Red Sea offers encounters with reef sharks, turtles, and clown fish, along with more than 1,000 fish species and 300 types of coral. Sites in the southern Red Sea often attract oceanic white tips and schooling hammerheads. On itineraries to Elba Reef in South Sudan, divers may see larger pelagics in rarely visited waters. High visibility, sometimes reaching 45 meters, makes observing hard and soft corals clear and vibrant. Smaller reef creatures such as nudibranchs and sea stars are frequently spotted. The mix of big and small species ensures every dive trip offers something new

What species and dive sites are featured on the Brothers, Daedalus, Rocky, St. John, and Elba itinerary?

The Brothers Islands are known for strong currents and regular shark activity, particularly oceanic white tips. Daedalus Reef offers vast coral plateaus and a chance to see hammerheads. Rocky Island features vertical walls rich in coral growth. St. John’s Reef is celebrated for its coral pinnacles, while Zabargad Island combines walls with sandy slopes. At Elba Reef, only accessible on long-range cruises, divers encounter unspoiled coral fans and the Levanzo wreck at 22–75 meters. Northern routes may also include the Ulysses wreck, Aida wreck, and other Abu Nuhas wrecks, giving divers a mix of reef exploration and wreck diving

Are there experience requirements for divers joining Royal Evolution liveaboard Egypt?

For itineraries in the northern Red Sea, including sites like Gubal Island or the Abu Nuhas wrecks, divers with fewer logged dives can participate. Trips to the Deep South Sudan, including Elba Reef, require at least 50 logged dives due to depth, currents, and remoteness. The crew enforces safe practices, including a maximum of 40 meters for non-decompression dives. A check dive is carried out at the start to assess skills. Nitrox is available for extended bottom times, while night dives and afternoon dives are regularly scheduled on many routes

How are transfers, check-in, and check-out managed?

Trips embark from Port Ghalib, about ten minutes from Marsa Alam airport. Airport transfers are included in the package, and a safety briefing takes place once guests are on board. Depending on the itinerary, overnight stays in hotels may be arranged before or after the cruise, particularly when traveling to especially the small cities near departure points

Rough start to a great trip!
Great crew and boat. Especially appreciated the emphasis on safety since our trip had a delay embarking due to the accident in the Red Sea in late November (Sea Story by ProDive) that resulted in some casualties. The divers experienced frustration at the unknown length of time for the port closure resulting in some discussion between divers and dive guides about back up plans as the closure became prolonged. The boat company did the right thing by accommodating some shore dives and gave the customers a break on nitrox costs. With the port (and Red Sea) closed for two days all the boats ended up leaving at the same time. It was great that the Royal Evolution sought out a revised itinerary and sites that were not crowded. We had some dive sites to ourselves and others were shared with just one other boat. The food (variety and quality) was amazing. Overall, this is a great boat and staff. Would readily dive with the Royal Evolution again.

The crew were top notch.
Dates Nov 18th -25th 2021 We had a great time. Didn't see as much aquatic life as we hoped, but the boat and crew were very hard working. They made a huge amount of effort to make sure we had a good time.
