Red Sea Blue Force 2 Liveaboard, Egypt

Red Sea Blue Force 2 is a 28-metre liveaboard operating from Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt’s northern Red Sea. It accommodates up to 18 guests in nine twin cabins.

Boat Interior

The main deck includes an air-conditioned saloon and dining room with a television. Outside, an open-air bar with couches provides a shared space between dives, while sunbathing areas with loungers are located on the upper deck and at the bow. Wi-Fi is available for an additional charge.

Buffet meals combine Western and local dishes, with dietary requirements accommodated when arranged in advance. Snacks are served between meals, while drinking water, coffee, and tea are available throughout the day. Soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are available for an additional charge, although spirits are not offered.

Cabin Types

Five twin cabins are located on the lower deck, while four twin cabins on the upper deck have exterior windows. All cabins accommodate two guests and include two separate beds, individual air conditioning, a private bathroom with a shower, a hairdryer, and lockable storage.

Each guest receives one bath towel and one beach towel, both changed midway through the cruise.

Dive Deck

Dives take place from the dive deck and main platform or from one of two auxiliary boats powered by 40-horsepower Yamaha engines. Three dive guides support a maximum of six divers per guide, with guides available in Arabic, Spanish, French, Italian, and English.

Standard S80 cylinders are available with DIN and INT connections, while Nitrox is supplied by an onboard compressor. S100 cylinders, twin S80 sets with manifolds, S40 stage cylinders, and helium can be arranged in advance. Rental equipment is available when reserved before the cruise, and Advanced Open Water and Nitrox courses may be completed onboard.

The dive area includes personal equipment storage, rinse hoses, and warm-water showers.

Safety and Navigation

Each dive begins with a briefing covering site conditions, marine life, communication, environmental conduct, and safety procedures. Divers must carry a dive computer and surface marker buoy, while a torch is required for night and wreck dives. Solo and decompression diving are not permitted.

Navigation equipment includes radar, GPS tracking, and an echo sounder. Emergency systems include life rafts, life jackets, life rings, an EPIRB, smoke detectors, firefighting equipment, emergency oxygen, first-aid kits, and a bilge-pump alarm.

Itineraries

Red Sea Blue Force 2 operates North and Extended North itineraries from Sharm El Sheikh. The routes cover the Strait of Tiran, Ras Mohammed National Park, northern Red Sea reefs, and wrecks including SS Thistlegorm, Kingston, and Dunraven.

The North itinerary runs for seven nights with five diving days, while Extended North runs for eight nights with six diving days and a hotel night in Sharm El Sheikh after disembarkation. Advanced Open Water certification or an equivalent level is recommended. Up to four dives may be planned per day, including night dives. Routes and dive plans may be adjusted in response to weather, sea conditions, navigation requirements, port procedures, or other operational factors.

When to Go

From December through April, travellers are advised to bring a windbreaker or sweatshirt and long trousers for cooler periods onboard. A 3 or 5 mm wetsuit is recommended from July through September, while a minimum 5 mm wetsuit is advised during the rest of the year.

Photography Facilities

Charging stations are available for camera equipment. Two rinse tanks are provided, with one used for wetsuits and boots and the other shared by masks, regulators, cameras, and torches.

For closed groups carrying several cameras, the onboard team may reorganize the shared space to set aside an area for photography equipment.
