Whether you are a solo traveller or part of a large dive club, the MV Freedom IV liveaboard offers a personalized service that makes every nautical mile feel like home.

Boat Interior

The Freedom IV is a contemporary and comfortable yacht spanning 30 metres in length, designed to be your secure sanctuary at sea. Inside, the air-conditioned dining room and lounge offer a panoramic view of the passing coral reefs. Between dives, guests can retreat to the indoor camera room, a dedicated space for the modern underwater photographer to manage charging stations and prepare their gear for the next descent. After a day of spectacular diving, you can unwind with board games, enjoy the entertainment system, or simply share stories over an espresso or latte at the coffee bar.

Dive Deck

The dive boat is meticulously organized to ensure a seamless transition from the accommodation to the underwater world. The spacious dive platform features individual dive lockers and sturdy tank racks, providing ample gear storage for up to 28 guests. To maintain your gear and comfort, the deck includes low pressure air hoses and fresh water showers for a quick rinse after exploring mystical wrecks. For those looking to advance their skills, the dive masters on board are ready to lead various dive courses right from the back of the vessel.

Safety

Safety is paramount on the Freedom IV Egypt liveaboard. The vessel is outfitted with a comprehensive array of marine safety technology, including radar, radio, and a satellite phone for constant communication. Onboard safety equipment includes emergency rafts, life vests, emergency flares, and fire extinguishers located throughout the ship. Additionally, the crew is prepared for medical needs with oxygen, first aid kits, and an AED on hand.

Non-diving Activities

A luxury diving holiday to the majestic Red Sea doesn't have to be all about diving. Non-diver guests and those taking a break from the water can enjoy leisure time on the partially covered sun deck, lounging on deckchairs, sunbeds, or bean bags. The cruise often includes land excursions and land tours to explore the historic beauty of the local islands. As the day ends, guests gather for a sunset cocktail party on deck, sipping local beer or freshly made juices while watching the sky transform.

Itineraries

The Freedom IV schedule is specifically designed to showcase the best dive sites of the northern Red Sea, departing directly from a private jetty in Sharks Bay. This luxury diving holiday provides access to world-renowned locations that remain out of reach for standard day boats, ensuring a personalized service with fewer crowds.

You can choose from a variety of proposed itineraries which feature iconic sites like the SS Thistlegorm and the Dunraven. For a more extensive journey, the boat frequently navigates the Straits of Tiran, visiting spectacular sites like Jackson Reef and Woodhouse Reef.

Each liveaboard trip typically offers three dives per day plus an enchanting night dive, conditions allowing. Whether you are exploring mystical wrecks or looking for captivating macro critters like sea horses and octopuses, these itineraries provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the abundant dive sites of Egypt. For larger groups or dive clubs, tailor-made itineraries are also available to ensure your diving safari meets every expectation.

When to Go

While the Red Sea offers great diving year-round, timing your diving liveaboard holiday can enhance your experience of specific marine events. The summer months bring warmer waters perfect for exploring enchanting cenotes and seeing whale sharks, the "ocean’s largest fish," as they pass through the region.

Frequently Asked Questions About Freedom IV

Is Nitrox available on board?

Yes, Nitrox is available for enriched-air certified divers. If you aren't certified yet, the crew often provides Nitrox courses on board so you can take advantage of longer bottom times during the trip

What is the typical daily diving schedule?

You can usually expect 3 to 4 dives per day, including a night dive (weather and location permitting). On the final diving day, two morning dives are typically scheduled to allow for a safe 24-hour surface interval before flying

Can I rent equipment, or should I bring my own?

While most divers bring their own gear, Freedom IV offers full rental sets including BCDs, regulators, computers, and torches. It is highly recommended to pre-book rental equipment to ensure your size is available. All divers must carry a Surface Marker Buoy (SMB) and a dive computer.

How do we get to the dive sites from the boat?

The boat is equipped with two high-powered zodiacs (RIBs). These allow the crew to drop you precisely over the best parts of the reef or wreck and pick you up promptly at the end of your dive, even in areas where the main vessel cannot anchor.

What is the minimum experience level required to join a safari?

To fully enjoy the itineraries (especially sites like the Thistlegorm and Ras Mohamed), we recommend a minimum of 30 logged dives and an Advanced Open Water certification (or equivalent).
