Boat Interior

The interior includes a fully air-conditioned salon with a bar, lounge seating, library, fish identification books, televisions for briefings, and refrigerated drinks storage. A buffet-style restaurant serves meals throughout the safari, while four sun decks with partial shading provide additional outdoor areas with sun loungers.

Cabin Types

Accommodation is arranged across 12 cabins, each equipped with individually controlled air conditioning, minibar, safe, TV, private bathroom, and large windows.

Superior Lower Deck Cabin

Four Superior Lower Deck Cabins are equipped with twin beds, panoramic windows, air conditioning, mini fridge, sofa, table, safe, bathrobes, towels, and en-suite bathroom facilities.

Superior Upper Deck Cabin

Four Superior Upper Deck Cabins feature panoramic windows, double and single beds, air conditioning, minibar, safe, and en-suite bathroom facilities.

Master Cabin

Three Master Cabins are located on the main deck and offer panoramic windows, double and single beds, en-suite bathrooms with shower and WC, air conditioning, minibar, safe, and TV. The Twin Bed Master Cabin does not include a sofa or table.

Royal Suite

Located on the upper deck, the Royal Suite features a king-size bed, seating area, rain shower, TV, minibar with first fill included, Nespresso coffee machine, panoramic views, and a private covered terrace with direct access to the sun deck.

Dive Deck

The spacious dive deck and platform are equipped with warm freshwater showers, rinse tanks, a WC, oxygen supply, and storage space for dive equipment. Diving operations are conducted either directly from the platform or from two 6.5-metre support RIBs powered by Yamaha 4-stroke engines.

Standard diving equipment includes 12-litre aluminium tanks with DIN valves and INT adaptors. Fifteen-litre steel tanks and side mount tanks are available on request.

The vessel is equipped with the ENOS emergency navigation and rescue system for diver tracking and positioning.

Safety and Navigation

Red Sea Explorer is constructed entirely from steel, including the superstructure. Safety equipment onboard includes life rafts, personal life jackets in every cabin, lifebuoys, emergency signals, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, CCTV surveillance, oxygen supply, AED, and a comprehensive first aid kit.

Navigation and communication systems include radar, sonar, AIS, GPS, EPIRB, SART, digital nautical charts, VHF and marine radio, satellite phone, and emergency beacons.

Nightly vessel watch with electronic monitoring is conducted onboard. Two support RIBs equipped with 100 HP engines are available for diver assistance and rapid response.

Non-diving Activities

Guests can relax across four sun decks with partial shading, outdoor seating areas, and lounge spaces throughout the vessel.

Depending on the route and dive site regulations, snorkelling may also be possible after consultation with the dive guide.

On the final evening before disembarkation, guests may go ashore while the vessel remains moored at the pier.

Itineraries

Routes operated by the vessel include North & Wrecks, North & Tiran, North & Brothers, Brothers, Daedalus and Elphinstone, St. John’s, Daedalus and Fury Shoal, Daedalus, Zabargad and Rocky Island, Ras Mohamed, Tiran and Dahab, Brother Islands, and Deep South & Elba Reef itineraries.

Northern routes include dive sites such as SS Thistlegorm, Abu Nuhas, Rosalie Moller, Ras Mohamed, and the Strait of Tiran. These itineraries include wreck dives, reef dives, canyons, and coral formations, with marine life such as turtles, barracudas, moray eels, jackfish, lionfish, anthias, and fusiliers.

Southern and offshore itineraries visit Brothers, Daedalus, Elphinstone, Fury Shoals, Rocky Island, Zabargad, and St. John’s. Dive sites include coral gardens, caves, steep walls, plateaus, and reef formations where hammerhead sharks, thresher sharks, oceanic whitetip sharks, dolphins, napoleon wrasses, turtles, and grey reef sharks may be encountered.

The Deep South & Elba Reef route also includes dives around Elba Reef near the Sudanese border, alongside sites such as Abu Dabab, Rocky Island, Zabargad, Fury Shoals, and St. John’s.

When to Go

The Egyptian Red Sea offers diving conditions throughout the year, with water temperatures generally ranging from 21–26°C during winter months and 25–29°C during summer and autumn. Offshore reef systems such as Brothers, Daedalus, Elphinstone, and Rocky Island may experience stronger currents.

Boat for Photographers

The vessel features a large camera table and freshwater rinse sinks for underwater camera equipment. Very large camera systems and housings are recommended to be stored inside guest cabins

My best liveaboard experience so far: Thanks!
My best liveaboard experience so far (I have been regular to the Red Sea liveaboard for over 10 years) from the moment I booked until the final transport to the airport/hotel at the end of the cruise. I was very lucky to get the Royal Suite which is amazing and really worths the extra cost! 180 degree view over the sea, two bathrooms and a large shower with an amazing view on the sea. The dive guide (Nemo) was the most competent and helpful guide I have ever experienced. Nemo was able to look after the group without over-controlling, securing the safety of all, giving freedom to explore and constantly looking around to spot pelagic fishes: never saw so many types of sharks and so close! The crew was very friendly and helpful. The food and service delicious. The dining room is also very spacious making possible to eat and help ourselves at the buffet without bothering anyone (which was the norm in all my other liveaboard experiences). A huge thanks!

Best of the Best!
Unbelievable week on the BDE trip! The Boat and Guests: The boat surprised us and was probably THE nicest one in the port. It was kept immaculate (cabins cleaned twice a day). The boat itself is only a couple years old and is gorgeous. Plenty of space to chill on your own or mingle if you choose. This operator isn’t on some of the marketing sites that cater to everywhere so the guests were predominantly from Germany. They were all great and we had a great dynamic but if you are looking for a mixed crowd it’s something to note. The Crew: Absolutely outstanding. They work so incredibly hard yet seamlessly. I can’t say enough about how wonderful they all are, how amazing the food they prepare is and what good characters the entire staff has. The dive masters are incredible, such professionals. Karim, Tamir and Nemo were ours and they made our trip amazing. At times I had to trust Karim with my life. The Route: the BDE route is the most advanced route in the Red Sea. Expect max recreational depths on most dives (they are deep wall dives), current and negative entries from the zodiac. This was thrilling and I always had confidence in the guides but be prepared. My husband and I hired a private DM (Karim) at the last minute because I sometimes have equalization issues after not diving for awhile and on some of these dives you must descend quickly with currents. Divebooker and the operator were wonderful accommodating our request for a guide and keeping us safe. We saw so much in November… many hammerheads, oceanic white tips, manta and even a thresher shark. Dolphins raced the boat leaving Daldeaus. What a trip! Definitely don’t hesitate to book My Red Sea Explorer!
