Frequently Asked Questions About Indo Master
Indonesia's tropical climate is characterized by two seasons: wet and dry. The country is influenced by the East and West Monsoon. The best time for diving depends on the region. For Komodo and the Banda Sea, the best time is during the dry season from May to October. On the other hand, Raja Ampat, Triton Bay, and the North Moluccas are best during the wetter months from November to May. Transition periods feature sunny days interspersed with occasional thunderstorms
Most Indo Master itineraries will feature at least one land excursion, and sometimes two, if logistics, weather, and sea conditions allow. Some popular stops include the Penemu Viewpoint in Raja Ampat and Komodo Island for Komodo dragon viewing. Other excursions may include village visits, beach sunsets, waterfalls, or caves. Some activities are subject to availability and may incur extra costs
Meals on board Indo Master are a mix of international and locally inspired. Special dietary requirements and allergies can be catered to if notified at the time of booking. Meals include light breakfast, full breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, with unlimited water, tea, coffee, juices, and soft drinks. Alcoholic beverages, such as beer, wine, and spirits, are available for an additional fee. Note that certain food items may be challenging to source locally, so bringing specific items for health reasons is recommended
Guests must have at least 50 logged dives and hold a PADI Advanced Open Water certification or equivalent to join Indo Master itineraries. Certification cards and dive logs are required as proof of experience. If guests have sufficient dives but do not have Advanced Open Water certification, they can complete the course on board with prior arrangements. Any divers who do not meet the requirements or lack experience for specific conditions may be restricted from certain dives
Indo Master has indoor and outdoor workstations for underwater photographers and videographers, each with personal storage drawers. Large rinse tanks are refreshed frequently. Crew members handle camera equipment carefully and provide general assistance at guests' request during a dive
Indo Master advocates eco-friendly practices by using only 100% biodegradable soaps, detergents, and cleaners. Guests are encouraged to make use of these products or bring reef-safe alternatives. Sunscreens containing chemicals known to be toxic to reefs are banned, although reef-safe sunscreens are sold on board. Guests should minimize plastic waste by taking all packaging away before travel and taking items in plastic home
