Maldives Blue Force 3 Liveaboard, Maldives
Maldives Blue Force 3 is a 42-metre steel liveaboard operating diving itineraries across the Maldives. It accommodates up to 26 guests in 12 cabins and sails through the central atolls, Baa Atoll, and the Deep South.
Boat Interior
The main deck includes an air-conditioned dining room and indoor salon with a television and audio-video entertainment. Outside, an open-air salon and bar complement the sun deck, with loungers and two solarium areas.
Buffet meals feature mainly Western cuisine, with other dishes and dietary requirements accommodated when arranged in advance. Tea, coffee, drinking water, and snacks are available throughout the day, while a full bar serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Complimentary Starlink internet is available in the common areas.
Cabin Types
The 12 cabins are distributed across three decks. The lower deck has four cabins with one double and one single bed, plus two triple cabins with three single beds. Two main-deck cabins each contain one double and one single bed and have obstructed windows, while four upper-deck cabins have the same bedding arrangement with sea views.
Every cabin has individually controlled air conditioning, a private bathroom, a safe, a hairdryer, towels, soap, shower gel, and shampoo.
Dive Deck
Diving takes place from a dedicated dhoni with personal equipment storage, rinse hoses, and warm-water showers. Aluminium S80 tanks with DIN and INT valves are included, while S100 tanks and S40 stage tanks can be arranged on request. Three compressors and a membrane system supply Nitrox, and rental equipment must be reserved in advance.
Four dive guides divide divers into groups of four to six according to experience and ability. Advanced and Nitrox courses may be arranged onboard. Rebreather support is available for no-decompression diving within the vessel’s operating limits, with sofnolime arranged in advance.
Safety and Navigation
Navigation systems include radar, echo sounders, GPS displays, a chartplotter, radio communication, and a satellite phone. Emergency equipment includes an EPIRB, flares, life rafts, life jackets, life rings, oxygen, an automated external defibrillator, and first-aid supplies. Fire detection and firefighting systems are installed onboard, together with a bilge-pump alarm and searchlight.
Divers must present valid certification and attend dive briefings. Dive guides may cancel participation when conditions or individual ability make a dive unsuitable, while the cruise director may adjust the route in response to weather or other operational factors.
Non-diving Activities
Between dives, travellers can snorkel, kayak, or use a paddleboard. Depending on weather and route logistics, selected itineraries may also include an island barbecue, a sunset gathering on a sandbank, or a crew-accompanied visit to a local island.
Itineraries
Seven-night Central Atolls itineraries explore the central Maldives, while the Central Atolls & Hanifaru route covers North Malé, South Malé, Ari, Rasdhoo, and Baa Atolls. The programme includes up to 18 dives for certified divers, with snorkelling in Hanifaru Bay when conditions permit.
Southern Hemisphere itineraries operate mainly between Gaafu Atoll and Fuvahmulah, crossing the Equator and combining channel dives with shark-diving sites in the south. Domestic flights connect Malé with the southern embarkation or disembarkation point. Guests joining this route must be Advanced certified or have more than 50 logged dives.
When to Go
Southern Hemisphere departures operate from January through March, when the vessel sails in the Deep South. Central Atolls and Hanifaru cruises run from July through October, although wildlife activity and water conditions vary throughout the season.
Photography Facilities
Designated areas for underwater camera equipment are available on both the main vessel and the dhoni, together with separate camera rinse tanks. Charging stations in the common areas support cameras and batteries, while an onboard computer can be used to copy and share photographs and video files.

Day 1:
Meet & greet at the airport. Group transfer to the port. Onboarding, meeting the crew & briefing.
Days 2 to 11 (Sunday to Friday):
DIVING CRUISE – “HANIFARU & NORTH” ROUTEDuring these days, we will explore the atolls of North Malé, Kaashidhoo, Baa, Raa, and Lhaviyani. The final itinerary will be adapted daily according to weather, currents, manta activity in Hanifaru Bay, and the criteria of thecaptain and cruise director. Dives include thilas full of marine life, coral gardens, manta cleaning stations, channels with grey reef and silvertip sharks, and possible whale shark encounters during the day or at night. We may also enjoy manta snorkeling (if mantas are present in Hanifaru), BBQs on desert islands, paddle SUP, kayaking, sunset chillout,s and visits to local islands.
Day 12:
Check-out from the yacht, group transfer to the airport.
NORTH MALÉ ATOLL & KAASHIDHOO ATOLL. These routes start in the northern part of Malé Atoll, the ideal place to acclimatize to Maldives diving.
Helengeli Thila offers grey reef sharks, eagle rays, and manta rays at cleaning stations.
Further west, Finger Point is known for continuous eagle ray and reef shark activity.
Kaashidhoo Atoll - less visited and more pristine - offers outstanding drift dives with excellent visibility and abundant wildlife: green turtles, large schools of fish, dolphins, and even seasonal whale sharks. Coral terraces host napoleon wrasse and large groupers, and the main island still preserves remains of 6thcentury Buddhist templesbuilt from coral blocks. BAA ATOLL & HANIFARU BAY. Baa Atoll is home to the iconic Hanifaru Bay (a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve), where, during the season, dozens or even hundreds of manta rays gather, along with the occasional whale shark. Thilas such as Dhonfanu Thila, Kihaadhuffaru Thila, and Golden Wall offer grey reef sharks, jacks, turtles, and lush soft corals. At night, whale sharks often approach the stern of the boat.
LHAVIYANI ATOLL is renowned for its diversity: wrecks, channels, and colourful coral reefs. Shipyard Wreck, with two sunken vessels lying parallel to one another among corals and sponges, creates one of the most photogenic underwater scenes in the region. At Kuredu Express and Madivaru Channel, the currents attract grey reef sharks, silver tips, eagle rays, and turtles. For a more relaxed dive, Kuredu Caves offers overhangs where green turtles often rest.
RAA ATOLLRemote and seldom dived, Raa offers nearly untouched reefs with abundant hard and soft corals, fusiliers, jacks, snappers, and batfish. Its spectacular thilas - such as Vaadhoo, Beriyan, Labyrinth, and Anemone Thila - are known for impressive clouds of glassfish swirling around the reef. Manta cleaning stations like Kottefaru Corner allow for long, relaxed dives, ideal for photographers. Reef sharks and eagle rays can often be seen in its channels.
Routes can be affected by adverse weather conditions and unforeseen events, force majeure or other similar reasons (Please note, that night dives are not available in Marine Parks)
