Lumira Duplex Liveaboard, Maldives

Lumira Duplex is a 36.58-metre Maldives liveaboard offering diving, snorkelling and island-hopping cruises across the Indian Ocean. Refurbished in 2021, this traditional timber motor yacht combines Maldivian craftsmanship with modern comforts and sleeps 24 guests in 12 cabins, with additional capacity for triple occupancy. Four decks provide plenty of space for relaxation, including a panoramic fly deck with a Jacuzzi, indoor and outdoor dining areas, and a comfortable lounge and bar.

Cabins

The yacht features 12 air-conditioned cabins distributed across three decks. Four double/triple cabins on the upper deck have a queen-sized bed and a single bed. The main deck accommodates one twin cabin, while the lower deck offers three twin cabins and four double/triple cabins. All cabins have individually controlled air conditioning, private en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold showers, minibars, safety deposit boxes, and storage space. Most also feature a bathtub.

Onboard Facilities

The air-conditioned lounge and bar offer a comfortable setting for relaxing between activities, while the outdoor decks provide seating areas overlooking the ocean. The spacious fly deck is furnished with sun loungers and a Jacuzzi, making it a pleasant place to spend an afternoon or watch the sunset over the Maldivian atolls.

Food and Drinks

Full-board accommodation includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner, served buffet-style with a selection of Maldivian and international dishes. Guests can dine indoors or enjoy the ocean breeze in the outdoor dining areas. An onboard bar serves drinks and refreshments throughout the cruise. Special dietary requirements and food allergies can be accommodated with advance notice.

Diving

Diving operations are supported by a dedicated 21.9-metre dhoni, measuring 6.75 metres wide. The dive boat provides space for divers and equipment, a Bauer air compressor, a nitrox system and a freshwater shower. Two dive guides accompany diving activities. Central Atolls itineraries include up to three dives on selected days, exploring coral reefs, channels and submerged pinnacles. Divers may encounter reef sharks, manta rays, turtles and other pelagic marine life.

Safety

The vessel is equipped with two life rafts, life vests, first-aid kits and a fire alarm system. Navigation and communication equipment includes Raymarine radar, GPS, an echo depth sounder, satellite phone, VHF, DSC and SSB radios, and a SeaTel communication system. Additional safety and monitoring systems include CCTV, engine room monitoring, lightning protection and a remote-controlled searchlight. The yacht operates with a crew of 14.

Itineraries

Maldives liveaboard itineraries include diving safaris through the Central Atolls and seven-night snorkelling and leisure cruises. Diving trips explore reefs, channels and pinnacles, with opportunities to see sharks, manta rays, turtles and pelagic fish. The snorkelling route travels from Malé through Ari Atoll, Vaavu Atoll and South Malé Atoll, offering possible encounters with whale sharks, nurse sharks, manta rays, turtles and dolphins.
