When to Go

The Maldives is a year-round diving destination, with November to May recommended for the best conditions. Eastern atolls are ideal from December to May, while the western atolls offer optimal diving from June to November. The dive conditions are generally excellent, with warm water temperatures ranging from 26°C to 30°C (79°F to 86°F) and visibility often exceeding 30 meters (100 feet).

During the northeast monsoon (December to April), the eastern atolls experience clear skies and calm seas, making it the best time for diving in these regions. The southwest monsoon (May to November) brings plankton-rich waters to the western atolls, attracting manta rays and whale sharks.
