Meemu Atoll is an island close to Ari Atoll, Maldives that is popular with divers of all levels. The dive sites around this island have channels with strong currents. They include Mulaku Kandu (a channel with interestingly shaped pinnacles and soft coral overhangs at 30m/98ft deep), Medhufushi Thila (a pinnacle covered with sponges that leads to a sheer wall and overhangs at 35m/115ft) and Mantas and More (a healthy reef that features large groups of manta rays).

When to go

Although diving is available year round at Meemu Atoll, the best time is from January to May. The water temperature is usually 27-28C/81-82F, and the air is about 29-31C/84-88F.

What to see

In addition to manta rays, Meemu Atoll is home to dolphins, whale sharks, moray eels, grouper, Napoleon wrasses, eagle rays, and snapper. There are also some mobulas, turtles, and barracudas.
