The Bat Islands are one of the premiere scuba diving destinations in Costa Rica. They are located in the far north of the Guanacaste off the coast of Santa Rosa National Park. The area has been preserved and is protected by the country as part of the national park. The Bat Islands are full of marine life including huge schools of different species of fish and massive schools of Rays that pass through the area. Diving here is available for all divers

When To Go Diving

Diving at the Bat Islands is available from May to November. The average air temperature ranges between 21-27°C (70-81°F). The average water temperature stays around 20C-24°C (68°F -75°F). The depth of the site is around 30m/100ft. Generally, the water visibility ranges from 9-30m/30-100 ft. There can be strong currents
