All about The Franklin Chang Diaz dive site

Wreck
The Franklin Chang Diaz is one of the wrecks in the Tortuga Island area, named after the Costa Rican astronaut and scientist. It brings a distinctive local identity to the wreck-diving scene, with artificial structure set in Gulf of Nicoya waters.

What to see

Divers may see wreck structure, reef fish, grunts, snappers, moray eels, rays, pufferfish, and schooling fish. The wreck also creates habitat for small invertebrates and encrusting life.

When To Go Diving

December to May is usually the strongest period for Tortuga Island diving. Water is generally around 26–29°C, with visibility commonly around 9–15 metres and sometimes better in calm conditions.
