All about Bat Point dive site

Bat Point belongs to the Bat Islands region of northern Costa Rica, an area known for stronger currents and bigger-animal potential. It is a more advanced-feeling Pacific site, with rocky terrain and open-water movement rather than sheltered reef calm.

What to see

Bull sharks may be seen in the wider Bat Islands area, along with rays, jacks, snappers, moray eels, turtles, and schooling fish. Encounters depend strongly on season, current, and visibility.

When To Go Diving

The Bat Islands are often strongest from May to November, when calmer winds and nutrient-rich water can improve big-animal activity. Water may range around 21–29°C, with cold thermoclines possible and visibility varying from roughly 8–30 metres.
