Punta Maria is a Cocos Island site with submerged pinnacles and an advanced, current-aware profile. It is one of the island’s signature shark sites, where divers settle near structure and watch the blue.
What to see
Hammerhead sharks, Galapagos sharks, whitetip reef sharks, marble rays, eagle rays, jacks, tuna, and schooling fish may be seen. Sightings are influenced by current and visibility.
When To Go Diving
Conditions are possible year-round, with June to November often stronger for pelagic encounters and December to May often clearer. Water can range from about 20–29°C due to thermoclines.
