All about Cueva del Tiburon dive site

Cueva del Tiburon, or Shark Cave, is a Caño Island site with a more dramatic mood, centred on rock structure and shark habitat. It suits divers who enjoy topography and the possibility of seeing whitetip reef sharks resting in sheltered areas.

What to see

Whitetip reef sharks are the main attraction, along with snappers, grunts, jacks, moray eels, rays, turtles, and reef fish. The cave-like structure adds atmosphere without needing to be treated as a technical cave dive.

When To Go Diving

December to May is usually the best period for Caño Island, with drier weather and steadier visibility. Water temperatures are generally around 26–29°C, though deeper areas can feel cooler with thermoclines.
