Emperor Seven Seas Liveaboard, Egypt
4.8Excellent1 verified reviewThe Emperor Seven Seas is a 5-star diving yacht offering luxury to those taking on the Egypt liveaboard routes. The 41-meter vessel offers modern comfort and high sophistication, making it an ideal vessel in which to base yourself while diving the stunning waters of the Red Sea. With a capacity to accommodate up to 24 guests, the yacht has 12 spacious, air-conditioned cabins with ensuite bathrooms, safe deposit box, and refrigerator. The eight lower deck cabins, as well as the four upper deck cabins, have king-size and twin bed options.
Right at the heart of the yacht, the "Living Room" is a cozy place with plenty of sitting rooms and a fully equipped bar. The guest can share an onboard computer so as to upload their dive photos while having a wide variety of drinks: from soft beverages, cold beers, or cocktails. A big dining room, intimate and relaxing, allows guests to enjoy three meals a day in a buffet style, both local and international options, all freshly prepared. There is nothing like the open kitchen; here, the chefs make meals in front of the guests.
The sun deck on the upper deck is luxurious, with big sunbeds and teak wood flooring. It is perfect for relaxation between dives. The Bose sound system in the sundeck enhances the mood, and it's a real favorite place to relax. Complementing this is a very popular blue lounge - a cool, shaded hideaway during the day and a dynamic meeting place in the evening. This lounge has a bar and grill; it is a focal point for socializing, especially during the weekly barbecue with fresh fish and meat, as well as other specialties.
The liveaboard has a great dive deck with which divers can easily prepare their gear. It comes fitted with two cleaning basins for dive and camera equipment, showers, and toilets on the dive platform. Free Nitrox is provided, and the filling station sees to it that the diver is always prepared for the next dive. From colorful coral reefs to animal encounters such as dolphins, sharks, and all kinds of reef fish, biodiversity is amazing in the Red Sea

A full range of dive equipment is available for rent - this must be organized in advance. All divers must dive with a dive computer, an SMB on every dive, and a torch for night dives. Standard tanks are 12-litre aluminum tanks, while a limited supply of 15-litre steel tanks are also available. Onboard PADI courses, including Skills Review, Advanced Open Water, Adventure Dives, and Specialties, can be arranged. For technical divers, rebreather and side-mount diving are possible with advance notice. Safety equipment on board includes oxygen, comprehensive First Aid, and an AED. What's included on the South and St Johns itinerary?
Highlights include Fury Shoals, where Sha’ab Sharm’s wall dives attract white-tip reef sharks, and Sha’ab Claude’s swim-throughs feature impressive porite corals. Abu Galawa Soraya offers a beautiful coral garden alongside a wreck teeming with glassfish. At St Johns, divers can dive into enormous reef systems along the Sudanese border, such as Habili Ali, home to giant gorgonians and black corals, and with hammerheads and silvertip sharks patrolling the blue. Habili Gafaar bursts with soft corals and shoals of snapper, barracuda, and butterflyfish.
Gota Kebir has tunnels and a south plateau popular with barracudas, jacks, and mantas. Gota Soraya is considered one of the Red Sea's best wall dives, its overhangs and crevices home to glassfish, grey reef sharks, silvertips, and hammerheads. The final day could include dives at Elphinstone Reef, known for its coral-covered plateaus and frequent shark sightings, or closer to Port Ghalib at Abu Dabab
What is the best time to dive in the Red Sea?
Although hot, the summer months offer vibrant marine life with shoals of barracuda, trevallies and snapper. During this period, the water temperature reaches a maximum of 30°C. From September until early November, conditions are ideal, with warm waters and milder air temperatures. This season also provides the best visibility, with the variety of marine sightings dependent upon the location. Water temperatures in the Red Sea vary from 22°C in February to 30°C in the peak summer months
What can I expect to see in the water on this itinerary?
On deeper sites such as St Johns and Elphinstone, pelagic species that include silvertips, hammerheads, and the odd manta ray can be encountered. Fury Shoals offers plenty of reef fish, colorful anemone settlements, and schools of glassfish that offer a haven for macro enthusiasts, while tunnels, walls, and plateaus offer a variety of ecosystems that guarantee encounters with everything from the tiny critter to larger predator

Program
Day 1:
Meet & greet at the airport. Group transfer to the port. Onboarding, meeting the crew & briefing.
Days 2-6:
Departing & check dive. Safari according to the planned route.
Sailing to the southernmost reefs, you’ll depart from Port Ghalib and dive some sites to the South before sailing overnight to your southernmost point in the St. John’s area. Depending on weather, government approval and marine life sightings in recent weeks, we may sail to the southernmost islands of Rocky and Zabargad, or we’ll moor instead in the vast reef system of St John’s to begin the adventure in the South.
When leaving Port Ghalib the route can sometimes take in a dive at Abu Dabab on the first or last day. Often spoilt for choice, your guides will pick sites that they know to be the best for the time of year and can find excellent alternatives should the weather affect the normal route. Although the distances are long, where possible we travel overnight so, as a 21 plus route, our aim is to get as many dives in as possible at some of the most impressive reefs. Below are some of the highlights.
On the way to Fury Shoals, we’ll dive Sha’ab Sharm with its wall dives and white tip reef sharks. At Fury Shoals, dive Sha’ab Claude with its famous swim-throughs and huge porite corals. White tip reef sharks and an anemone and clownfish settlement can be seen a little off the reef to the South. Abu Galawa Soraya has a fantastic coral garden and a wreck of a private sailing boat populated with glass fish.
St Johns is a vast collection of small reefs offering some of the most remote and rewarding diving in the Red Sea. This incredibly beautiful reef lies a short distance north of the Sudanese border. The reef covers a huge area and many dives would be needed to explore the numerous coral heads and islands. Habili Ali offers giant gorgonians and black corals whilst grey reef, silvertip and schools of hammerhead sharks might be found on the west side. Habili Gafaar is a mass of soft corals teaming with shoals of snappers, butterfly fish and barracudas. Mantas, grey reef and silvertip sharks can often be seen in the blue.
Gota Kebir is a massive reef, famous for its tunnels and south plateau, where jacks and barracudas can be seen and the occasional manta. The tunnels are ideal for novice cave divers.
Gota Soraya is rated as possibly one of the best wall dives in the Red Sea, with overhangs and cracks in the reef wall full of glass fish and sweepers and an abundance of corals, grey reef, silvertips and hammerhead sharks.
On the last day as we head back to port, we will try to take in a dive or two on the world famous Elphinstone Reef if weather and diver experience permits us, or we will finish in the Abu Dabab area perhaps with another dive or two closer to Port Ghalib to relax and unwind before your final night in port.
Day 7:
2 dives on the last day. Return to the port.
Day 8:
Check-out from the yacht, group transfer to the airport.
