The boat offers special facilities for marine photographers that include a camera table, a charging station, and storage. Each diver on board has their own dive station with storage for their gear. Routes of the vessel give a unique chance to dive at the Gulf of California, also known as the Sea of Cortez, with Mobula rays, turtles, and sea lion colonies. Also, the yacht offers to discover an underwater world of the Socorro Islands and to meet its amazing inhabitants - whitetips, silvertips, whale sharks, tiger sharks, silkies, and manta rays.
Boat Interior
The boat has space for 20 guests on board. Two twin rooms are placed on the lower deck other eight cabins are on the main deck; six have twin beds, and the other two with double beds. Each cabin is en-suite and has air conditioning. Cabins, in addition, have big portholes to enjoy the view. In between and after dives, boat passengers can stay at the salon, watch TV, or use the boat's computer. There is also an open-air area, perfect for chatting with other divers on board or reading a book. For those passengers who want to get some sun or enjoy the marine view, there is a spacious sun deck. It has a shaded part and numerous sun loungers.
Diving Deck
This area on the liveaboard has a lot of space for preparing for diving and for maintaining gear. There are boxes to store equipment and comfortable benches. For EANx-certified, nitrox is available. Plus, underwater photographers can use a camera table to maintain their cameras.
Safety
One of the most important things during the safari is safety. Rocio del Mar is equipped with the necessary equipment, like a first aid kit, safety rafts, life vests, etc.
Itinerary
Boat's itineraries include diving on Socorro and the Sea of Cortez. Socorro is a destination with a diversity of marine creatures. Hammerheads, silkies and whale sharks, dolphins, and barracudas are frequently spotted here. From January to April main attraction of this region is humpback whales. This region is popular among divers for its array of coral formations. Between pinnacles and rocks, you can meet sea lions and sometimes whales.
When to Go
July to October can be considered a preferable time for diving in the Sea of Cortez. From November to May is the best time to dive at Socorro Island, although it is possible to dive here during the whole year
