Aldebaran Liveaboard, Egypt

​MY Aldebaran liveaboard Egypt is a 35 m wooden motor yacht operating in the Red Sea. The vessel accommodates up to 20 guests and operates scheduled diving safaris supported by onboard dive systems and guided diving operations.

Boat Interior

The vessel accommodates up to 20 guests in six double cabins, two triple cabins, and two suites. All cabins are air-conditioned and equipped with en-suite bathroom facilities and minibar. Towels and bathrobes are provided on board.

An air-conditioned salon finished in oak wood is equipped with a bar and an entertainment system, including a flatscreen TV, video, DVD, and stereo.

Wi-Fi is available on board where coverage allows. Hairdryers are available in limited number, and toiletries are not provided.

Cabin Types

The vessel accommodates 20 guests across six double cabins, two triple cabins, and two suites. All cabins are air-conditioned and include en-suite bathroom facilities and minibar.

Suites provide a more spacious layout, while double and triple cabins are designed for two or three guests respectively

Dive Deck

Diving operations are supported by three compressors with a total capacity of 1050 litres per minute. A membrane Nitrox system is available on board.

The dive setup includes DIN adaptors, rinse hoses, warm water showers, and personal storage space for diving equipment.

Two tenders with 40 HP outboard engines are used for diving operations.

Equipment rental is available. Technical diving, including rebreather support, is available on request. Diving is conducted with onboard dive guides, maintaining a typical diver-to-guide ratio of 1:8, extending up to 1:12.

Safety and Navigation

The vessel is equipped with radar, echo sounders, GPS, compass, and chartplotter systems. Communication systems include VHF and HF radio, satellite EPIRB, and a satellite phone.

Safety equipment includes life jackets, life rafts, and life buoys. Fire extinguishers are installed throughout cabins, the salon, and the engine room, supported by fire fighting equipment, fire alarms, and smoke detectors. A bilge pump alarm and a searchlight are also available.

Emergency oxygen and first aid kits are available on board.

Itineraries

The boat operates diving safaris across the Red Sea, covering a range of northern and southern routes. Available itineraries include North, South, Brothers, St. John, and combinations such as Brother, Daedalus, and Elphinstone; Daedalus, Zabargad, and St. John; and Rocky, Zabargad, and St. John.

Additional routes include North including Ras Mohammed, Northern Wrecks, North and Tiran, North and Brothers, Deep South, and Wreck and Reef itineraries. Selected routes include offshore locations such as Daedalus, Rocky Island, and Zabargad.

Dive plans are adapted to diver experience levels, with certain itineraries requiring a higher number of logged dives.

When to Go

MY Aldebaran operates in the Red Sea, with itineraries covering both northern and southern routes, including offshore locations such as Daedalus, Zabargad, and Rocky Island.

Diving is available year-round, with conditions varying across the seasons. Water temperatures typically range from approximately 24°C to 28°C between April and October, and from 19°C to 24°C between November and March.

Northern itineraries generally offer more sheltered conditions, while offshore routes may be more exposed and are suited to experienced divers. Diving is conducted in accordance with local guidelines, including a maximum depth of 40 m for both air and Nitrox diving, depending on certification and experience level.

Boat for Photographers

A camera station is available for setup and preparation, along with separate rinse tanks for underwater cameras. Storage space is provided for camera equipment, and charging stations are available for battery management between dives.
