South Moon 1 is a brand-new steel yacht, constructed specifically for diving trips in comfort in Egypt's well-known Sinai region. The 30-meter-long and 8-meter-wide vessel holds a maximum of 22 passengers in various cabin types. On the upper deck, there are six comfort twin-bed cabins, and on the lower deck, another four twin-bed cabins. On the top of the upper deck, guests can enjoy the luxury of queen bed suites with more space and privacy. All the cabins are air-conditioned and have an en-suite bathroom to provide guests with convenient and comfortable accommodation during the journey.

The yacht also boasts ample social areas designed for relaxation and socializing among guests. Indoors, the air-conditioned living and dining space features two large flat-screen TVs and USB outlets. Outdoors, two expansive sun decks offer ample room for sunbathing or enjoying the sea breeze between dives.

Onboard dining is for diverse tastes, with international meals according to guest choice, comprising vegetarian, seafood, chicken, and meat. Three buffet meals a day, snacks, fresh fruit, cookies, and complimentary beverages like mineral water, soft drinks, tea, and coffee are available at all times. Other drinks like beer and espresso are offered at an additional charge.

Onboard dive facilities are comprehensive. On-location tank filling is available via two high-powered compressors and an independent Nitrox compressor for easy enriched air supply to divers. The dive deck is spacious with generous storage space per diver and individual rinse tanks for underwater camera equipment. Two zodiacs powered by Yamaha engines shuttle divers to and from the dive sites in quick time.

Safety aboard is prioritized with extensive emergency preparedness, including oxygen systems, life vests, life rafts, and first aid kits.

Popular Egypt liveaboard itineraries feature the classic North route around Sinai, with its globally famous dive sites like Ras Mohamed's Shark and Yolanda Reefs, the stunning Straits of Tiran, and the iconic SS Thistlegorm wreck. These destinations offer excellent chances for marine life encounters, from colorful reef fish to pelagics, and never-to-be-forgotten dives

How is it best to travel to the boat?

There are international flights every day to Sharm El Sheikh International Airport. Airport transfers to, and from, South Moon 2 are arranged by Sea Queens. If a hotel is being visited in Sharm prior to the safari, hotel transfers to the boat can be arranged as well. To facilitate the arrangements effectively, flight schedules or hotel names must be notified well in advance by the clients

Are there medical and safety facilities on board?

Oxygen and first aid are available on the boat. For emergencies, Search and Rescue services based on land are ready 24/7, with hyperbaric chambers accessible at Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, Safaga, or Dahab, depending on where the boat is. The guests need to purchase their own diving and health insurance before coming on the tour, as the same is not available onboard
