Located on the northwest tip of the west side of Grand Cayman, Orange Canyon is a dive site recommended for advanced divers. Named for the big orange elephant ear sponges the site also features the vast webs of deepwater gorgonians and meaty barrel sponges, swim-throughs and the variety of marine life including blacktip and Caribbean reef sharks.

When to go

Scuba diving is available all year-round. The average air temperature stays within 21-27C/70-80F range throughout the year. June through October is usually the hurricane season. The average water temperature stays between 26C/78F and 28C/82F year-round. The depth of the site is 40m/131ft. Water visibility is 31-34m/101-110ft.

What to see

Sponges, gorgonians, swim-throughs and the variety of marine life including blacktip and Caribbean reef sharks.
