Scuba diving in Lighthouse Bommies


The Lighthouse Bommies dive site is located on Lady Elliot Island and has a group of pinnacles. Divers can explore a sandy lane that leads to several coral ledges and boulders densely covered in corals. Underwater divers love to dive at Lighthouse Bommies because of the variety of marine species to be explored.
When to go
The average air temperature is 25-28C/77-82F and the water temperature averages 24-26C/75-78F. The best time to dive is April, when the water temperature peaks at 27C/80F. Summers are usually wet and hot, and winters are dry and a bit cooler.
What to see
Numerous marine species can be spotted while scuba diving at Lighthouse Bommies. Divers can spot batfish, stingrays, turtles, sea snakes, moray eels, trevallies, barracudas, wrasses, reef sharks, trout, and leopard sharks.
