All about Holmes Reef dive site

Holmes Reef is a remote Coral Sea atoll, far east of the Great Barrier Reef, with an expedition-style feel. Its distance from the coast gives it a wilder, more oceanic personality with walls, bommies, and blue-water edges.

What to see

Reef sharks, trevally, barracuda, tuna, turtles, soft corals, gorgonian fans, fusiliers, and large reef fish may be seen. The site can feel more pelagic than inner Barrier Reef dives.

When To Go Diving

Best conditions usually occur during calmer expedition windows, often from June to November. Offshore visibility can be excellent, and water is generally warm, around 25–29°C.
