North Horn is a dive site located close to Port Douglas within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park in Australia. It features drift diving and deep diving full of ledges, bommies covered by whips and healthy corals, a sheer wall, and a coral rubble amphitheater. Shark feeding is regulated by the strict rules of the government of Queensland
When To Go Diving
The warm waters of North Horn allow diving year-round, with an average water temperature of 28-29°C/82-84°F during summer. The exceptional visibility is usually from September to November. Coral spawning occurs in October and November
What to see
North Horn is a well-known shark feed full of gray reef sharks, whitetip sharks, and gray whaler sharks. Divers may encounter sailfish, hammerhead sharks, or silvertip sharks. Other species at this site are dog-toothed tuna, potato cod, fusiliers, bass, and barracudas
