Tangalooma wrecks is a fantastic dive site located near Moreton Island, which was created in 1963. The huge construction was created by a group of boat owners as a sea break wall, which protected smaller boats in the harbor. The wrecks include 15 sunken ships such as the Maryborough, including barges, dredges, and flatboats.
When To Go Diving
Moreton Island’s climate is subtropical. The average temperature in summer (November to January) is 28C/82F. During the winter (May to July), the average temperature is 20C/68F.
What to see
Scuba diving at this site is impressive, because divers can explore both structures and marine life at the same time. Divers can spot wobbegongs, trevallies, kingfish, yellowtail, and schools of tropical fish in the coral reefs and wrecks.
