Shelly Beach
Shelly Beach is a dive site in Australia that is located within a short drive from Sydney, and is a part of a marine reserve. Its highlight is an old sunken motorcycle at the depth of 8m/26ft.
When To Go Diving
It is possible to dive at Shelly Beach throughout the year, with a water temperature of 16-18C/61-64F during winter and 24-27C/75-81F during summer. Dusky whaler sharks can be spotted at this dive site in winter. Divers are advised to arrive and leave early from this dive site, because it can get crowded later in the day.
What to see
Shelly Beach features Port Jackson sharks, wobbegongs, blue grouper, and octopi in the little cove and stingrays. It is possible to see a colony of Little Penguins close enough, as they are feeding on fish. Lucky divers can also spot weedy sea dragons, wrasses, and black cod.
