Cathedral Caves is a dive site on the Tasman Peninsula that has the largest sea cave system in Australia. It starts with a huge entrance leading to small caverns full of cross-passageways and tunnels. There are plenty of fallen boulders, and the caves are covered with colorful invertebrates.
When To Go Diving
The best time to dive at this site is from December to February. This time has the best sea conditions and warmest water, averaging 20-24C/68-75F. June to August are the coldest months.
What to see
The Cathedral Caves site has a number of spectacular species, like weedy seadragons, cuttlefish, sea spiders, nudibranchs, kelpfish, and wrasses. It is even possible to spot some seals on the way to this dive site.
