Cherubs Cave
Cherubs Cave is a unique dive site. Scuba diving in this cave is a challenge, because it is hidden and surrounded by large rocks and smaller caves. The size of the cave is approximately 15-20m/49-65ft, and it can be accessed from 6 entrances. This is a spectacular place to dive.
When To Go Diving
Moreton Island, Brisbane has a humid, subtropical climate. The hottest months are November to March, with an average temperature of 28C/82F. During the winter (May to July), Cod Hole usually has temperatures around 20C/68F, but this is the best time to dive because of the western winds and calm seas. Divers should avoid diving nearby Moreton Island from November to March, because there is a significant risk of thunderstorms with destructive winds and rain during this time.
What to see
Divers can encounter turtles, wobbegongs, pelagic fish, batfish, pipefish, seahorses, and nudibranchs in countless kelp beds, ledges, and caves. Cherubs Cave becomes a favorite spot for gray nurse sharks during the winter, which is a great time to dive at this site.
