Amr Ali Red Sea Defender Liveaboard, Egypt

Amr Ali Red Sea Defender liveaboard used by HEPCA Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association. It acts as a research boat. During the safari on this vessels, you will not only dive at the most engaging dive sites of Egypt, take a part in the educational projects, get a knowledge of marine biology and Environmental conservation.

Boat interior

Amr Ali Red Sea Defender can accommodate 18 passengers. She has 9 cabins. There are two suites and 2 double cabins, located on the main deck of the boat with big windows and a gorgeous view. 8 twin bed staterooms situated on the lower deck. 6 of them has regular twin beds and other two equipped with bunk-style beds. All rooms on the board of Amr Ali Red Sea Defender are en-suite and has towels and bathrobes.
There are plenty of common spaces on the board. Spacious salon suits perfectly to spend time in between diving. It has an entertainment area and a dining area. On the top deck, divers can enjoy the gorgeous view and spend time in the sun.

Dive deck

Dive deck of Amr Ali Red Sea Defender is spacious enough for all divers on board to prepare themselves for diving and to maintain equipment. There are storage boxes for the gear and hanging area for wetsuits. The boat provides divers with 12l tanks and research equipment.

Safety

There are all necessary safety equipment on board Amr Ali Red Sea Defender: life rafts and life jackets, first aid kit and fire fighting equipment.

Researching and educational programs

The main feature of Amr Ali Red Sea Defender is you can not only dive but also get a knowledge of how to protect coral reefs, tracking environmental threats. Every day boat's crew arranges a lecture about marine life or animal behavior.

Itinerary

Amr Ali Red Sea Defender offers 4 different itineraries. Red Sea Dolphins and Turtles expedition include diving at Red Sea Marine Parks, lectures of dolphin and turtle behavior. There is an itinerary for wreck divers. You can explore SS Thistlegorm, Dunraven, Rosalie Moller, Salem Express. Climate change and Global warming research expedition dedicated to the learning of effects of climate change. During the Red Sea Shark Week, you will be introduced to a shark diversity, their behavior, anatomy, and morphology. This trip includes diving at Zabargad island, Rocky and St. Johns.

When to Go

Red Sea is a year round destination. Best time to visit it’s dive sites is in the spring and in the autumn months. Water temperature in the winter can be rather cold because of winds. Summer months sometimes brings low visibility.
