Koh Wao is located in the Ang Thong National Marine Park. Named after its resemblance to a sleeping dragon, the site features a shallow and protected bay full of many big stone coral boulders, that teem with marine life.

When to go

Diving is possible any time of the year, but the best diving conditions are from November to April, because it is the driest time. The annual water temperature ranges from 26-30C/78-86F.

What to see

The site presents a huge range of hard and soft corals with fabulous acroporas and impressive coral plates. Here divers have a good chance to see some big snappers, groupers, butterfly fish, angel fish, and a big school of yellow tails, banded angelfish, fusiliers, barracuda and trevallies.
