All about Cochrane Artificial Reef dive site
Cochrane Artificial Reef is a man-made reef system in Queensland, creating an underwater playground where structure attracts fish life. It has a practical, local-dive feel, with marine life gathered around artificial habitat rather than natural reef alone.
What to see
Schools of fish, estuary cod, groper, stingrays, turtles, and wobbegong sharks are associated with the site. The artificial structure also provides shelter for smaller reef fish and invertebrates.
When To Go Diving
It can be dived year-round when local sea conditions are suitable. Water is warmest from December to March and cooler from June to August, generally within Queensland’s subtropical range.
