Sunken Ship is a general Costa Rica wreck-style site name and should be treated carefully unless tied to a specific vessel. In most local contexts, the appeal is artificial structure or wreck remains rather than a large intact ship.
What to see
Wreck remains, reef fish, grunts, snappers, moray eels, rays, pufferfish, and small crustaceans may be seen. Encrusting growth and shaded sections can attract hidden marine life.
When To Go Diving
December to May is generally best for coastal wreck dives, with calmer seas and clearer visibility. Water is usually around 26–29°C, though deeper wrecks may feel cooler.
