Silver Star is a shipwreck in the North of Mauritius flooded in 1992 to form an artificial reef. The average depth of the site is 22m/72ft, with maximum at 39m/127ft.

When To Go Diving

The best time for diving is the period from mid-October to mid-May, when the water temperature is about 26—28C/78F-82F.

What to see

The wreck is located approximately 2 km/1.2miles from the coast. The interesting fact about this site is that the ship stands on its stern. In various places of the wreck there is a different marine fauna.

The wreck is lying half on the sandy bottom, half on the reef. First time I saw the wreck in such turquoise clear water, the visibility was just excellent! The marine life is impressive as well, barracudas, angel fish, scorpion fish, etc... It's a haven for those divers who are searching for wreck diving and marine beauty all in one :) Lili
