All about Rocky Cape dive site
On Tasmania’s north-west coast, Rocky Cape brings a cooler, wilder character to Australian diving, with rocky reef structure rather than tropical coral gardens. The site suits divers who enjoy temperate scenery, clear-water days, kelp-edged terrain, and a more rugged coastal mood.

What to see
Expect temperate reef life rather than Great Barrier Reef species. Kelp, sponge growth, leatherjackets, wrasse, nudibranchs, cuttlefish, crabs, and other cold-water macro subjects are the main focus.
When To Go Diving
Best months are usually December to March, when Tasmanian seas are warmer and calmer. Water temperatures are typically around 11–18°C in Tasmania, with summer offering the most comfortable window and often better visibility.
