This dive site is located on the northwest side of Christmas Island and features a vertical wall surrounded by abundant bomboras. Perpendicular Wall starts with an overhang covered by gigantic sea fans and becomes a steep drop-off.

When to go

Perpendicular Wall is great for diving year-round, December to April is the monsoon season. The water temperature is usually around 24-28C/75-82F.

What to see

Perpendicular Wall is famous for its diverse marine life and opportunities to swim with dolphins. Different types of eels, blue-lined angelfish, cowfish, and surgeonfish are some of the numerous species, as well as hydrocorals, feather stars, sea fans, and colorful nudibranchs
