HMAS Brisbane is one of Queensland’s signature wreck dives, resting off the Sunshine Coast as a former naval vessel turned artificial reef. Its decks, gun mounts, superstructure, and marine growth give the dive a strong sense of history and scale.

What to see

Divers can see wreck corridors, the bridge area, gun mounts, schooling fish, batfish, turtles, rays, nudibranchs, and sometimes larger passing marine life. Coral and sponge growth continue to soften the ship’s metal lines.

When To Go Diving

The wreck is dived year-round, with water temperatures generally from about 19°C in winter to 27°C in summer. Visibility changes daily and is driven by ocean current rather than a predictable tide pattern.
