When to go to Grand Bahama
Due to the warm tropical climate diving in Grand Bahama is perfect all year round. The low season is considered to be from May till November, because of expected hurricanes and tropical storms, especially in September. In spite of that, the conditions for diving are still appropriate, the water temperature is around 26-29C/78-84F.
The high season and perfect time for diving in Grand Bahamas is from November through April, the air temperature is around 23-27C/73-79F, and the water is about 24-26C/74-78F. The visibility in this area ranges from 20 to 50m/65-164ft.
What to see
Hard corals, gorgonians, sponges and crinoids can be spotted on the Plate Reef. Whales, dolphins, rays, angelfish, octopuses, shrimps and turtles are just a few of the species that populate the area.
