All about El Capitan dive site
El Capitan, on Grand Bahama, is a dramatic reef site with two large pinnacles and an underwater mound topped with gorgonians and hard corals. The dive begins around 13 metres and can extend deeper, giving photographers both coral texture and schooling fish.
What to see
Gorgonians, hard corals, macro subjects, schools of fish, reef fish, and possible passing sharks may be seen. The pinnacles provide the strongest visual structure.
When To Go Diving
Grand Bahama diving is possible year-round, with November to May usually best for visibility and shark activity. Water is generally around 24–29°C, though winter can feel cooler.
