Legendary wreck
The Japanese tanker the Taiei Maru (168m/551ft long, also known as the Concepcion wreck) was sunk in 1944 by American planes. It is located south of the village of Concepcion on the island of Busuanga. It lies almost straight at the bottom of the sea. Diving can be done by boat, and the site is most suitable for experienced divers.
When To Go Diving
Diving is possible all year round. The water temperature ranges from 21-28C/68-82F. The average underwater visibility is 20m/66ft. The water is often calm. The air temperature averages 23-36C/73-96F.
What to see
There is abundant marine life there, including beautiful corals, large lettuce corals, sponges, and shoals of fish such as fusiliers, snapper, batfish, and the ubiquitous red lionfish and scorpionfish.
