Birchwood II is best described as a wreck or wreck-style Red Sea site where structure has become habitat for fish and coral growth. It brings a historical or artificial-reef contrast to Egypt’s coral-garden diving.
What to see
Wreck structure, encrusting corals, glassfish, lionfish, moray eels, scorpionfish, reef fish, snappers, and blue-spotted rays may be seen.
When To Go Diving
Spring and autumn are usually best, with water around 22–28°C and visibility often excellent. Conditions should be checked locally if the wreck is deeper or exposed.
