All about The Evans Patch dive site

The Evans Patch is best treated as a Southern Queensland patch reef dive, where small reef structures create a more intimate underwater scene. It is the kind of site where divers slow down over coral heads, sand channels, and fish movement rather than chasing deep walls.

What to see

Look for hard corals, soft coral patches, reef fish, small rays, nudibranchs, and turtles when conditions align. Coral trout, butterflyfish, angelfish, and damselfish are typical of this region.

When To Go Diving

May to November is usually the stronger visibility period for Southern Great Barrier Reef and Queensland coastal sites. Water is commonly around 24–29°C, with the warmest months from December to February.
