The Princess Anne used to be a transporting vessel off the Chesapeake Bay and was sunk in 1993 near the West Palm Beach. Nowadays her wreck is located in an upright position with a stern and a hull rising up over the bottom. Diving in Princess Anne dive site is exciting and spectacular due to the interesting combination of artificial and natural reefs in one site. However, divers should avoid penetrations during scuba-diving in Princess Anne, as they might be dangerous due to strong currents.

 

When To Go Diving

Diving in Princess Anne dive site is the most advisable from May to September. Average air and water temperatures in this period reach 28-31C/82-87F. Average air temperatures rarely fall under 15-17C/59-62F in the period from December to February and water temperature - around 14-16C/57-60F.

What to see

Diving in Princess Anne is amazing, because multiple marine creatures found their shelter in and around the wreck. Divers can encounter dog snappers, barracuda, orangeback basses, nassau groupers, sharks, jacks and eagle rays. Underwater species encrusted the vessel remains and include sponges, gorgonians, hard and soft corals interesting to be explored while scuba-diving in the area.
