All about Octopus Garden dive site

Octopus Garden is a characterful reef site where rubble patches, coral heads, and crevices create ideal hiding places. It has a slower, story-rich feel, especially for divers who enjoy behaviour and camouflage.

What to see

Octopus may be seen, along with cuttlefish, nudibranchs, shrimps, crabs, reef fish, coral trout, and small moray eels. Coral bommies may also shelter anemonefish and damselfish.

When To Go Diving

Dive in calm conditions with good light, especially from June to November for clearer water. Water temperatures on tropical Queensland reefs generally range between 24°C and 29°C.
